I’m also curious to know what people think about this.

I spent around $15K+ on the hobby in total last month. One SP told me she has clients who spend that much with her every month, which honestly came as a bit of a shock to me.

Are there really people who consistently earn enough to spend $15K+ a month on the hobby?
Yoi spent 15K in one month? No way. That is insane.

Here’s an example of an SP doing it right.

There are also “career SPs” who have demonstrated longevity and seem to be surviving/thriving. Asian Nicole comes to mind.

But I’d say the majority of SPs either a) enter the industry for the wrong reasons and therefore may not know how to exit, b) are changed by the $ they make and develop unsustainable spending habits, c) are not mentally hard-wired or mature enough to plan for the future, or d) all of the above.
Aw I wanted to meet her lol

15k a month is real money
i do 4 sessions a week at 1k to 1.5k
thats already a lot but 15k is another level

Unfortunately most sps don’t even think about the future.
The younger they are the more they live in the now.
I feel like that’s most people though… When I got my first civi job I had no care in the world and blew all my money on fun stuff.

In general a lot of people in their early to mid 20s aren’t thinking of their future at all and just want to have fun. I’d say between age 25 - 30 is when it starts to actually sink in that they need to be more concerned about the future. It happens to almost everyone. Not just escorts.

Yes there are people who can afford to spend that much on the hobby and still live comfortably. Just like there are people who can afford a Lamborghini. This is why it never made sense to me when a guy would complain that I’m “expensive” and try to barter my rates down when they could just find a cheaper girl. There are women out there who charge 1k per hour and I charge less than half that. I’m really not expensive by comparison.

And you're an A+ provider too.

Let’s say there’s an in-demand, best-in-the-league kind of SP. How much would she realistically be earning on average? Is it actually possible for an SP to consistently earn upwards of $20K per month, month after month?

I tried to crunch the numbers, but something doesn’t quite add up.

For example, let’s assume a highly sought-after SP is working through an agency at $400/hour:

  • 8-hour shift per day: 8 × $400 = $3,200
  • Agency cut at 30%: $960
  • SP’s take-home: $2,240 per shift
  • 10 shifts per month (which already seems quite high to me): 10 × $2,240 = $22,400
I can understand how an SP could make that kind of money for a few initial months, especially when she’s new and in high demand. But what I’m struggling to understand is whether someone can realistically sustain that level of income consistently for years.

Is my math missing something, or am I underestimating the number of hours/shifts an SP would actually be able to maintain over the long term?
The amount they make is irrelevant to this discussion.

I believe it is! I believe in this capitalist world, one's thoughts are driven by money they possess or they make. So when we say "How and What do SPs think" - it is somehow linked to amount they make.

I think it really depends on the sp. From my years of hobbying what I learned is that it's hard to generalize sp's and there not all are created equal. There was a very popular sp in the gta around the 2010's who went by the name of Ashley Green. She started in the industry in her early 20's and retired by the time she was around 28 (her stated ages). She was one of the most financially smart sp's I ever met. She knew exactly what she wanted to gain from being an sp and when she wanted to call it quits. By the time she retired she was literally set for life with the amount of money she amassed and the assets and investments she accumulated throughout her sp career. Eventhough she was a high-school dropout she was very financially savy and financially better off at 28 then most men are in their 60's. She was a unicorn in every single way.

Probably not exactly appropriate for this thread, but I’ve always wondered what an SP does with the cash they receive? Do they just walk into the bank with a few thousand each week and deposit it! Or pay everything with cash, rent, car payments etc. Genuinely curious.

From the small sample size I'm personally familiar with, it ranges with how legit they operate as a business and also whether this is their sole source of income. One lady I've known for years operates mostly legit, as this is her job. She declares the amount of income necessary to qualify for her mortgage and car payments, living expenses and business expenses and also claims her business expenses and keeps a lot of cash free and spends that for things that are easy to spend cash on. Someone else I know has a regular job and her escort income is entirely under the table. She banks as much of her legit income as she can and spends the escort cash on as much as she can.

Just like Hollywood actors, the perception seems to be that most escorts are "rolling in it", when reality is that it's only the top 1% who do and the rest are working to live.

Couple of the SPs I know personally, have tie-up with small business owners / mom-and-pop business (or their CPA's make the arrangements), where the SPs, on paper, are employed with those businesses --> they give the cash to business owners --> business owners in return process the payroll for the SPs.

This way SPs have legitimate Payroll , which enables them to be eligible for Credit score/loans etc.
Business owners are able to deduct payroll expenses from their revenue. (which helps them in reducing their tax liability).

I know a couple SP's that had regular clients that owned businesses and would give them an employment letter for loans and other credit, but they didn't actually go through the payroll part of it. That would be a costly exercise since presumably the SP would also be reimbursing the business for the employ share of CPP and EI and possibly other expenses like WSIB etc. That runs thousands of dollars a year.
