If you could go back to the start would you have started hobbying?

I go back and forth on this a lot in my head.

On the one hand I've had so many incredible experiences with gorgeous women I'd never meet up with otherwise. These are some of my favourite memories of my life.

But I've also used significant funds that I could put to good use now, obviously. And there's always the health risk, which I've fortunately avoided.

So how about you: if you could go back in time would you rather have never learned about this world at all?

The health risk to me is minimal and vastly overrated - no different from sleeping with a variety of civilian women. You don't die or get maimed from a sexually transmitted disease: you get some pills and take a break for awhile until you feel better. Or maybe you get herpes and manage your outbreaks.

Financially, seeing escorts is an expensive hobby, and I'm not a wealthy person. Obviously over the years I have spent buckets of money that could be put to other uses, more socially respectable ones.

But the heightened awareness of sensuality is a great thing. We live in a sexually repressive society, even though it's far less repressive than in the past, and the hour spent with a good escort allows one to touch ecstasy. How could I regret that?

This is very apt.

This is something I’ve always thought of as well.

I got into this years ago because of loneliness and as Springsteen described, I need a little of that human touch.

There are many moments where I wish my personal/dating life went better so I could’ve saved a ton of money. Maybe I’d have a nicer place or nicer car etc. But at the same time, my ventures in this game aren’t just to get laid. They’ve become experiences!

Experiences I would’ve never participated in if not for this world. I’ve been with women completely out of my league. Girls that wouldn’t even look at me if not for this world. I’ve been with women of every shape, size, build, age, ethnicity that I’ve wanted to. I’ve had more duos than I can count on both hands, recreated almost every porn scene I’ve wanted to and am now close checking off another few fantasy’s of mine.

Some people travel, collect things, eat at fine dining establishments etc. I do a little of these things as well, and this is just something that’s also part of things I wanted to experience. I think we ask these questions due to the stigma associated with it.

As an example, no one would ask a person of non UK background from Phoenix, AZ travelling all the way to London to watch an Arsenal match. Spending all that money for a sports team they have no affiliation to apart from being a fan. They’d say it’s a great experience. Yet if I wanted to spend a few thousand to have a duo with two busty blondes, I’d be labeled a fool by most!

No one in my life knows I do this but I have friends who’ve been with long term partners and while they’re happy, I’m sure they’d trade in a year or two of being with those partners to have the same experiences I did.

At the stage of life I’m currently in, I’m kind of ready to retire from this world and settle down with some stability. But if it does or doesn’t happen, I’m glad I’ve been able to enjoy these experiences. So to answer your question, no. I wouldn’t change too much!

Yes, I would have started a few years earlier than I did (and I started young), and would have done it more often when younger.

There is no risk in the past, nor is there a risk of disappointment in the imagined future.

Most people do this because of current reality, which wasn’t that great when you started, isn’t that great at present, and won’t be that great in the future when it comes to dating. Sure there is the occasional honeymoon periods, but they don’t last.

If you fuck 100-200 different women of vastly different categories, explore some fetishes and fantasies, and make some friends you otherwise wouldn’t have (especially age-gap ones that would have never occurred in civilian dating), consider it a success. Most primarily monogamous or god-forbid celibate guys would secretly trade places with you.

The sex workers put that money to some damn good uses like education and supporting themselves and their dependents. Probably a hell of a lot better use than giving it to a greedy, unappreciative spouse, or just buying yourself an expensive sports car you would look like an idiot in. It is good to redistribute the wealth, especially to younger people who are building a life.

You don’t get to take it with you, and few, if any, religions in Western Civilization, suggest their will be sex workers in the afterlife.

And as others have said, the health risk is damn near zero.

@Hipjdog you are in the mode of denial. Not good. You have to accept now that you did this. Why? because if you are still in denial , regret and resentment this will affect your life down the road, basically it is like a Trauma. Having conversation with regular people will be difficult for you. I have seen it to many times.

I seen posts like yours here, I would say once a year. You have to live with your decision. Yes the hobby may have its benefits and disadvantage, detriment, harm, and loss. Yin and Yan; left vs right. But unfortunately you are already in the middle of the battlefield.

Shake it off, remove the dust from your coat and make another decision. Walk away or continue.

I wish I had started earlier and had the funds ( money ) to do it. I wish I had a fake ID back then when I was a teenager and knew exactly how this worked.

As for the money now, would I be better off if I saved more? Probably not. I like to travel, seeing a lot of strippers, so I enjoyed what I like in life. The money sure it would help now with a better car but I am okay for now. Other people are not so well, even if they made triple what I made. Control of money is important.

If you feel bad about how much you're spending on this annually then cut back and control yourself.

I have never met on old person who regretted making fun expenditures when they were younger. I have met plenty of old people who regretted not spending more on fun things when younger. I am saying old people, not middle-aged people.

I was referring to the original Op or @Hipjdog not you. As for age I was referring to everyone NO matter what their age is.
So I am guessing you have several accounts here.

I was agreeing with you, and I realize you were referring to the original poster.

I only have one account.

Just saying that you can’t go back in time. If you are 75 and wished you had traveled more and fucked more girls when you were 18-22, it is too late then.

The older I get, the more I realize the Die with $0, and the Never Retire folks are right. Work, spend and enjoy it from age 18 till you die, which ideally isn’t when you are so old that life is miserable. Much of life is about fantasies that aren’t that enjoyable even if they occur.

Guys who do this activity and question it constantly, seem to be mourning the loss of a socially acceptable “perfect life”. That seems to itself be more of a “fantasy life” than what most people experience in reality.

Hey everyone,

I think I might not have articulated my question properly as there seem to be some pretty emotional responses.

I was just legitimately curious if the hobbling experience has been worth the financial trade off on balance. If you could go back would you do it all over again?

No judgement, just wondering how other guys feel.

I would because I can’t think of what, past or future, I would have enjoyed, or would enjoy, more than what I spend on this activity.

I think having a bunch of money when you are old is overrated.

Now there is a limit to this kind of thinking. I think it is good to keep the spending on this activity to no more than 10 percent of income, unless this activity is financed by a separate, dedicated line of income.

Every once in a while I slip and almost say something socially unacceptable. This one guy calls me a lot about charitable contributions to my college Alma Matter. I give a minimal amount, but I almost said that one of my favorites is going back to college for a very advanced degree, and I should just book some more sessions with her instead of giving like a penny each to a bunch of college students I don’t even know.

Financial trade-off has been minimal. Basically, found some screaming hot deals over the years with kindly generous providers. That being said, the title of the thread is a screaming headline for me. God, if I could start my life again. The fact that I participated in this "hobby" is a testament to a life of failure. Loneliness has become my life. "Hobbying doesn't really help that part. If I could start again, I would have tried to live a normal life. The life I have lived isn't normal. I could say I don't know how I got to this place, but of course I know exactly how it happened. I am the same guy I was at age 17....12......I was going to this cornucopia amp of very reasonable prices at incredible bargain rates. I went the other day to try out one on my list. I kind of got weirded out by the whole empty transactional emptiness of it. The girl was diffident and couldn't hide it.Neither could I. We parted on good terms but it was sad. I think I am almost done with it. Reality has sunk in big time. I really think I have had enough. If I could end it all today I would do so. Sorry for the bummer reply.

I could have done without the two failed marriages (but then I wouldn't have the children I had by my second).

I don't regret a moment of my hobbying. Life would have been a lot more empty without it.
