Some people call these mashups I call them what they are - blends. I've been listening to blend mixtapes since the mid to late 90's. They really became popular in the 2000's with DJ's like Ty Boogie, Silva Sirfa, Love Dinero, Danny Dee and this dude, DJ Rukiz coming onto the scene. This blend CD right here is one of my personal favorites

So now I'm wondering where that piano sample came from. Sure enough its from this obscure 1972 song. Talk about crate digging.
