What does any of that have to do with it?

IMHO: some voted for the party, regardless of leader; some voted against the candidate of the other party, sham on the Dems for ignoring the decline of Biden; some voted because Trump offered hope that Dem's did not; some voted for Trump because of the righteous left, eg less than 1% are trans and yet it becomes a major hill for the dems while the US is a tire fire.

Dems need to ask themselves why would people vote for someone with Trump's track record and not write them off as stupid. Actually it is stupid to think of them as stupid.

If you do a stupid thing, it is a stupid thing to do.
Now, yes, there is a reason I actually moved the IQ thing aside since the concept of essential/innate/permanent level of intelligence isn't useful.

But if you do a stupid thing for stupid reasons, that counts.

If you vote for someone to stop the moon, then you are doing something stupid - whether or not that person can actually stop the moon.

It's about whether all your "I want nothing more than to be an American and Canada should just become America" stuff are things you actually believe or you're just trolling for effect.

Voting for someone for the reasons that I listed doesn't make one stupid. Voting because the alternative is not part of your core values doesn't make one stupid.

The stupidity lays in the current administration and their naive belief in Project 2025.

Even voting out Trump won't change much. Tariffs are back to stay, US will continue to "invest" in the military, health care and any program that benefits actual Americans will be considered one step closer to communism, further erosion of the middle clasd and government spending will grow, risking the financial ruin. Guess you are kinda righy, Americans are stupid.

There are many people who were smart to vote for Trump.
Collectively, the US was stupid to do so.

Same thing can be said for voting for Joe Biden....same can be said about voting for the policies to open the border...collectively Americans smarten up and voted to stop an open border policy.

I'm not trying to change your mind about whether people who voted for Trump were stupid. Or even if collectively it was stupid.
I am trying to clarify that "Americans were stupid to vote in Trump" is not the same statement as "People who voted for Trump were stupid."

If "controlling the border" was your primary or even only concern, it is entirely possible to have voted for Trump and not have been stupid.
(It depends on what you thought was going to happen at the border and what you thought the problem at the border was.)

The people who voted for Mass Deportation (as in they understood what was being offered and said "yes, I want that") obviously were not stupid in how they voted, since they got what they voted for.
