Get an ice therapy pump that ramps around your knee & pumps ice cold water to help with pain & swelling.
Use frozen water bottles inside + water
Great investment or even better if benefits cover it.
Do physio before surgery to strengthen & follow daily physio after as well
That ice therapy pump sounds really useful, is it used mostly after surgeries or can you just use it in general for pain?

Ice ice ice baby lol

Makes the biggest difference in healing quick with the least amount of pain and inflammation

Anything you would ever put ice on, you can use one of these for as long as you have the proper attachment. Various makes of ice therapy units have different cuffs you can buy for different body parts. The knee would be a little cumbersome on, say a wrist but you might be able to rig up with some velcro the ability to wrap your lower back using the knee cuff as an example.

As above, full right knee, maxed out arthritis, no options left, hurts every day, no mobility

Like to heal asap so advice to get better quicker is appreciated, having robot assist surgery
Get one of those little pedal things for the floor to get movement going without putting weight on it until you’re ready. Swimming is a good low resistance exercise for when you’re able to go in water again after healing.

Push through the pain during your physio and your home exercises. Make sure you do them. And don't be shy to ask for the pain meds. Also when your in the waiting room for the physio the wife said it was comforting to talk with others when you do your first one. You'll get info first hand from others in different stages of recoverey. First going in your wondering how the hell am I going to get this new knee working. But talking to another your concern they'll tell you 3 weeks ago they were in the same situation and so much better now.
If they give them. My dad said they didn’t give him any. I don’t know the reason why if it’s based on the hospital and doctor or if he has A history that I don’t know of. He said he was grumpy and mean to his girlfriend at the time and told her to go home because he couldn’t control himself from the pain

I used hydromorphone for pain and my doctor said he would give me as many as I felt I needed. He did tell me I couldn't drive if I was using them. Him and the physio people firmly expressed the need to get the stretching done and that it was going to hurt and the pain was going to hinder the recovery, so take the pain pills to help the stretching.

i've gotten a lot of hydromorphone from my doctor too i barely take it because the surgeries ive had were mostly for just in case reasons so i have a drawer with a couple of bottles just filled with it 😂

Yeah, the last prescription I got of it, I barely touched because I really wanted to get back to driving. Physio was happy with my progress, so I stopped taking it around 4 weeks post op
