American citizens put him there....Twice đŸ–•
Exactly. Some people keep acting like Trump is some sort of weird anomaly. He's not. He's the embodiment of the Ugly American + "American Exceptionalism".

Trump is the inevitable result of the bat-shit crazy American political landscape that began in the late 1970s with the "Moral Majority", and if history is any indicator, shit is only going to get worse over there.

It started way before that, MAGA is essentially the Confederacy 2.0
The Moral Majority, like the Tea Party is part of that white-Christian Confederacy, with it's huge media echo chamber.
Rush Limbaugh, Rupert Murdoch with Fox, even podcasts like Joe Rogan is a part of it.

Maybe this time around it will be the crypto party where true Americans tired of Trump's tariffs will crash his data centres

True enough, but in reading your post, I am reminded that one of the major reasons the "huge media echo chamber" you mention was allowed to flourish -- around 1981/82, Ronald Reagan scrapped the Fairness Doctrine, which mandated that all TV and radio media overage of controversial subject matters MUST present both sides of the debate.

With no more Fairness Doctrine, people like Rush Limbaugh were allowed to hit US airwaves and speak with an authoritative voice on matters they often knew little or nothing about, but packaged everything they said as Gospel Truth.

If all those people who don't vote finally realize they are being fucked up the ass and losing health care, etc then it could be a defeat of historic proportions. If not then its time to write of the USA.

He is both cause and symptom.
He is uniquely bad, but he is also part of a long trend heading this way, as you say.
Both things are true.

One thing Trump proved was that a lot of the non-voters actually preferred a more authoritarian and racist country.

That is so true, it opened the flood gates.
Similar to what Citizens United did to campaign finance rules, it opened the flood gates.

Did he? Is he popular among the non voters who generally vote for who gives a fuck?
There is evidence that in elections he has run in, turn out of people who don't normally vote has gone up and they mostly vote for him.
I'm not sure how strong that evidence actually is, but it isn't something I would dismiss out of hand.

The MAGA game plan is simple.

Rig the midterms then invade Ontario. Sack Toronto destroying our economy. After that Alberta becomes the 51st State. Danielle Smith adores The King of Kings almost as much as his new girl pal. She won't lose sleep being a Quisling.
