yea it's unfortunate but what can you do, its their life and you cant force someone to be healthy against their will

Enlarged prostate is not the same as prostate cancer.
I had prostate cancer, detected with a simple PSA blood test. I was 64 at the time. From there I had an MRI guided biopsy to determine how bad it was. (MRI is done and then overlaid during the biopsy.)
My level of prostate cancer gave me the option of having it removed (lots of side effects) or special focused radiation (not the real term for it).
I opted for the radiation. This was almost three years ago. PSA is now normal. No real side effects of the radiation during the month of daily treatments (15 minutes every morning) and I got to drop my pants in front of cute radiation tech ladies. (kidding, there was a towel and they were very kind)
Side effects after and now? I don't have the bladder of steel where I could hold it for hours, but I am not wearing Depends. I just am aware that I if I need to go, I need to go.

I actually got an update on him - his cancer is stage IV metastatic prostate cancerN and has spread to his L4 and a spot near one of his ribs. That said, his PSA levels dropped bigtime after starting hormone therapy so that is something good. His medical team also didnt tell him to get his affairs in order either, so that's good too. Its a really slow moving cancer...
Same happened to my nephew. He's doing well.
If the prostate is gone, why are they testing for PSA? Its bound to be negligible
“Men of a certain age” all understand this battle and this desire. HOWEVER, no legitimate doctor will tell you that these supplements are a way to shrink your prostate, the likely cause of the issue. They should tell you they are a waste of money. The objective should be to first, fully empty your bladder before bed. Talk to your doc about Flomax or it’s equivalent to see if that may be right for you. Second, ask about 5mg daily tadalifil to address BPH to again see if that is right for you. Good luck

Yes, we did but i have been told it will only buy time and it has the chance to spread
I'm in my 70s with an enlarged prostate...PSA is slightly elevated but within the safe range. On the initial consult with my urologist (I won't name him but one of the top guys in the city) he suggested that I try Super Beta Prostate pills for a few months because they are the only supplement that has proven to have benefits in clinical trials. It may not work for me but we're testing this before he puts me on real drugs such as Dutasteride or Flomax (ie Tamsulosin). I hope my PSA stays low to minimize future invasive procedures.
Flomax and tadafil wil not shrink you prostate either. Once its enlarged it doesn't shrink. Some guys here said it helped so I'm willing to take a shot.
Flomax definitely doesn’t “shrink” the prostate. Not sure how daily tadalifil works relative to BPH, but I know that is a conversation to have with a doc
Actually I googled it and these two meds supposed to shrink it.

It is, but they have pills too. Maybe it'll shrink you prostate and grow your hair back.
