If I wanted to speak to google AI, I’d just speak to google AI.

You’re challenging me on a survey you know nothing about.

This is what’s wrong with Canadian politics. Vibes trumps actual details. Just like when Liberals say Poilievre has no plan but gives a presser on what his plan is. Then Carney tries to do what point says and you think it’s a great job.

Canada is a joke.
I'm sorry, is this not you?

Also, you asked for the survey, I gave it to you. You didn't read it, and now accuse other people of running on vibes not facts?

What colour is the sky in your world? Whatever Fox News tells you it is?

It is me. Like I said, if I want google ai I know where to find it.

And I asked you his assessment. Not for you to post links.

So I'm just going to wrap this up here by saying, You don't know shit and you fell for a hit piece.

Biggest mistake they've done is take up cultural politics like that. Most conservatives do not want to be lumped in with American republicans and it's costing them big time when they keep chasing it.
I've always been intrigued why it gets chased as much as it does here.

One aspect is, of course, that there is some constituency for that kind of politics of white resentment here and they are loud and passionate. But it doesn't seem it is broad enough to really get the job done.

I suspect one of the reasons they lean into it though is a misunderstanding of the political system.
The US is a system where it is much easier to wield power as a reactionary minority. The Presidential system, the electoral college, the extra veto points, the way the Supreme Court works, etc... "double down on culture war stuff even if it has a ceiling" seems to make more sense in that structure than in the Canadian one.

So, here's where you're wrong. Nick Nanos didn't make an assessment. Nanos Research conducted a telephone poll. They tabulated the results of the poll. the results of the poll are here:

If you want to disagree with the poll question, or the polling method, or the statistical analysis, you'd need the links to be able to argue your position. I provided you with that. So far, your response has been to stick your fingers in your ear and say "nanny nanny boo boo" because you don't agree with the results.

I'm convinced it's because of how much we air American news in general has somehow convinced people that Canada works the exact same way as the States so they try to emulate it more often.

That's why they cross the floor. There are still plenty of them who are extremists.
Which is insane to think about because even our most conservative Prime Ministers throughout the years would be straight up called Communist Liberals by American Republicans even back then.

I find it the other way around honestly.

CPC politics is not in the same realm Republican politics. It's Liberals that want that Dem vs Rep dynamics in Canada.

I've said this months ago actually.

He linked to it directly.
That's not google AI, that's an actual link to the actual survey.

You asked:

So what was Nano’s assessment?

Not your interpretation but the actual poll.

He then linked it for you.
What's the problem here?

I do think that's part of it.
There is culture bleed over and also people see how effective it has been for the GOP and think they can just run the same playbook despite the different rules.

Posting a link doesn’t demonstrate he read or even understands what he read.

Hell it doesn’t even acknowledge what he said was right or wrong.

In post 51 I posted a screenshot. That I took. While reading the report.

It's literally a 1 question phone survey. Out of the 1104 voting age people surveyed from across the country, 33% don't believe ANY conservative leader can beat Carney. 16% believe Harper could do it, 15% think PP could do it.

I'll read into this: Conservative support hovers around 35%. The conservative party today is a mishmash of older Progressive Conservatives and younger Reform Party/Podcast Bros/MGTOWs. If I add Harperites (PC's) and Po-lievers (Reformers), we're at 31%. If I add up the "no one can beat Carney's" with the "I don't know's", I get 51%. which is about where the Liberals + Dippers are polling.

So the poll seems to pass the sniff test, and tells me that less than half of conservative voters think PP can beat Carney.

And the 17-or-whatever Conservative MP's agree with these results, based on their experience talking to their constituents.

How convenient right? I thought I asked for no interpretations?

And this is my point. These things can be misrepresented so easily.
I genuinely don't understand the point you are trying to make.

"here are some numbers from a survey"
"You're misrepresenting them"

"o.k., here's the survey"
"That's not what I'm asking"

"o.k., here are the numbers and how they were gathered. I will also very clearly state my opinion about them, clearly saying it is my opinion."
"How convenient..."

Like what do you want? Another survey done by a legitimate pollster that says 75% of Ccanadians are dying to give PP the ol' reacharound if only the main stream media would let them?

The dude had a generational fumble in the last election. 19,597,674 people voted, 70% of the eligible population. 11,484,190 or 58% of those people did not vote for PP and his PPparty.

Now righties are twisting themselves up into knots to figure out what the grand conspiracy was. I'll lay it out for you:

People were sick of Trudeau. PP was PoPular because he wasn't Trudeau and not for any other reason. Carney replaced Trudeau. Since he's not Trudeau, it took away PP's greatest strength. PP had nothing of substance to run on after that, and had to run on his "accomplishments" in the past 20 years (no legislation passed, convoy supporter, weird wood-humping videos, TFW wife, etc.). The fact that he lost his own seat should tell you more about his skills as a politician than anything else.

I’ll dumb it down for you. 18% are unsure. How can you add that all to “No one can beat Carney”?

Ugh, you're really grasping at straws here...

First, as stated now 3 times: my opinion about the poll doesn't affect the validity of the poll.

Second, I didn't lump those people in as believing "no one can beat Carney". MY underlying assumption is that those 18% don't know enough about conservative politicians to have an opinion. The most likely reason for that is that they are not conservative voters.

I work in numbers. If I do a calculation and the answer is 1,000,000 when I'm expecting 0.01, I know I have a problem.

In my reading of the poll, the % of people who have an opinion is pretty close to the % of conservative voters. The % of people who don't have an opinion plus the % of people who think no one can beat carney is pretty close to the % of non-conservative voters.

For me, that means I don't see anything obviously out of whack with Nanos' work. That's all.

You've gone from "fake news" to "corrupt survey" to "boobtoucher's opinion is convenient" without offering any real criticism of the underlying poll or reporting. So as before, I don't understand the point you're trying to make.

This sums it all up. Liberals control the MSM, so they control the narrative. It's to the point they can sabotage any conservative movement.

Then they wonder why many Albertans want to leave. It's a rigged system.
But, Dezzie. Tories were about to win a massive majority until PeeWee made such an asshole of himself that the entire country switched to supporting Carney.

Surely if the election was rigged by MSM, everybody would just have voted for Justin.

Ah yes, the familial heir to the royal lineage. The absolute picture of a democratic leader.
Isn't the whole point of Pahlavi that he is better than the Ayatollahs. It's not a high threshold.
