3 Unique Storylines. Over 50 Possible Endings. Just one question... Can YOU be Scared... to Death?

The most frightening day of the year isn't Halloween. It isn't Friday the 13th. The scariest day of the year, in fact, is today--because today is the day you enter... The House.

HAUNTED is a horror story unlike any other -- YOU are the main character. After a mysterious invitation, you're set to spend three nights in a severely haunted house as part of a television show called The Offering. If you can make it through to the end, you'll walk away with one million dollars. But this game, like the uncanny inhabitants of the Tansky House, might prove far deadlier than any horror you've previously imagined.
Praise for HAUNTED:

  • "One helluva ghost story."
-Shirley Jackson, author of The Haunting of Hill House
  • "I'd seal my enemies in a cellar with a copy of HAUNTED, but that would be too good for them."
-Edgar Allan Poe, creator of the horror genre
  • "Decent story. Could've used more gables. ★★★"
-Nathaniel Hawthorne, author of The House of Seven Gables

Here's how it works: You, Dear Reader, are the main character of this story. The House will change and mold itself to your fears -- based on your own choices. Tansky House holds many secrets...what should you do?

  • Explore the grounds meticulously. Anything could be a clue! Go to page 232
  • Take a drink (or two) from the ample bar, then hide in my bedroom. Go to page 13

Ghost, ghouls, devils, and madmen, oh my! Stop yelling "Don't go into the basement!" and live your own interactive horror movie. Whether you get your chills from Paranormal Activity, The Conjuring, and The Exorcist, or if your goosebumps come from slashers like the Scream, Saw, or The Purge* franchises, you'll find a custom horror story waiting for you inside HAUNTED. You're in control now... but can you make it out alive? Or will you be scared to death?

I visited Sneaky Dee’s in March because it was referenced in a Carley Fortune novel. I even advertised it to the guy working there. He no doubt was willing to check the novel out because it brought him a customer after all.

I read and listen to a lot of self development books, and audiobooks. For Reading right now is Mind Over Grind, 'How to break free when work hijacks your life,' and for Audio it's Lewis Howes Money Mindset. I almost always have an audiobook going in the morning while doing my makeup, and try to keep a list going for when it's time to jump on a plane.

I remember watching The Road a few years ago. I was passing by a thrift book store today that I usually browse and saw a copy of the book. Decided to pick it up and I'll be reading it this weekend. In for a treat for sure.

Because Zanzibar was in the news the other day, I remember that for the last time I ever went in there, I was reading a James Patterson novel (I think it was The 6th Target) while waiting for the stripper to come out.

oooh I heard good things about that from a few friends, whatd you think of it?
Overall, I commend the author for shedding light on children that may have grown up in abusive households and/or were abandoned. From their perspective, they wouldn’t know what a normal upbringing is and would have trust issues when it comes to receiving help.

It started out as a slow read for me as the main character (Ruby) didn’t have any friends at her new school and was a fish out of water. But things started to really pick up during the climax where she passed out in the woods and by the end of the book, I was emotional looking at how far she came in a matter of months after being taken in by her sister and brother-in-law.

#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

Art restorer and legendary spy Gabriel Allon searches for the missing wife of a British billionaire in the electrifying new tale of greed, corruption, and betrayal from #1 New York Times–bestselling novelist Daniel Silva.

Alice Winter, one of Britain’s most dazzling socialites, seemingly has the perfect life—a lavish home in posh Knightsbridge, a grand estate in Devon, millions of followers on social media who eagerly await her next post. But when she disappears without a trace while on holiday with three old friends from Cambridge, her desperate husband, the real estate baron Edward Knight, turns to none other than Gabriel Allon to find her.

He soon discovers that Alice Winter is not the woman she appears to be, that she has a reckless side, that she has secrets. But Edward Knight has a secret too, a secret so dangerous that Gabriel will have no choice but to return to the life he thought he had left behind. An old enemy lurks there, waiting for him to make one misstep, waiting for the perfect moment to exact vengeance.

From its irresistible opening chapters to its heart-pounding climax and shocking final twist, Ransom is a riveting, page-turning tour de force that proves yet again why Daniel Silva is the reigning master of international intrigue and suspense.

I don’t know whether you only heard good things about that particular novel or about author Sarah Dessen in general, but if it’s the latter, then I myself am in the midst of reading all of these. I initially read The Moon and More, and my sister gave me all these after seeing how much I liked Dessen. IMG_8340.jpeg

Beatles.
English translation of coming-of-age novel by Norwegian author Lars Saabye Christensen.
Follows four teenage boys in Oslo obsessed with the legendary British band.

I found it in a neighbourhood little library box.
It was a fun read, about the impact of this band in another non english speaking country.
It is now back in a different little library box, so someone else can enjoy it.

I decided to read Lauren Brooke’s novels that inspired the CBC series Heartland. I never actually got into the show but maybe the books will get me interested. I’ll at least give the first issue ‘Coming Home’ a chance before making any judgements/opinions.

Because it’s fairly short, it’s a good breather before carrying on with my aforementioned stack of Sarah Dessen novels.

After reading the first Heartland book and cross referencing with the CBC show, one thing I didn’t know was that Amy Fleming was only 15 in season 1. But that shouldn’t be too much of a surprise considering all the people in their 20s playing teenagers in Hollywood. Nonetheless it shows that the CBC series was a lot more true to the books than I thought

Just the particular novel yea. However after asking the same people about the author they've said pretty much the same thing as you that most of her books are really good to read. I guess I'm picking up a new author lol. Thank you

From the bestselling author of The Berry Pickers, an unforgettable novel about a woman who must confront her family's buried truths and memories of passionate young love when her grandmother's death leaves her as the only guide to her community's future
Born under the shadow of a birthing tree sacred to generations of Mi'kmaq women, Aliet Paul grows up outside a small Nova Scotia town with her fierce, loving grandmother Kiju. Her mother died bringing Aliet into the world under that very tree; her father remains a mystery no one will name. Aliet's childhood is shaped by seasonal apple pickers, the medicinal wisdom of the old ways, and the quiet, steadfast presence of John, a boy who becomes her anchor.
But the world beyond their community is changing. Traditional midwifery is condemned, prejudice deepens, and when the wrong person witnesses a birth, the consequences are disastrous. As Aliet comes of age, she navigates love, loss, and a personal tragedy that veers her from the path her grandmother wanted for her. She becomes a nurse trained in modern medicine, yet she carries Kiju's teachings close, tucked beside memories of the tree that once welcomed new life.
Years later, when the call comes that Kiju has died, Aliet returns home to a crumbling house, a community scattered, and a past she thought she'd outrun. As Aliet restores the house room by room, something inside her stirs awake: the threads of her lineage, the old ways of her grandmother, and the mystery of her own bloodline.
As Aliet digs to uncover who her family really is, each revelation pulls her deeper into a web of long-guarded silences, dangerous loyalties, and generational wounds that refuse to stay buried: Someone knew the truth about her mother's final moments. Someone knew what happened in the orchard all those years ago. And someone wants the past to remain undisturbed.
Spanning decades of loss and reclamation, this sweeping yet intimate novel follows one woman's journey to protect the land, the traditions, and the memory of the women who came before her--and to decide which parts of her inheritance she will carry into the future.

Enter the brutal and elite world of a war college for dragon riders fromNew York Timesbestselling author Rebecca Yarros

Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general-also known as her tough-as-talons mother-has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre:dragon riders.

But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away…because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them.

With fewer dragons willing to bond than cadets, most would kill Violet to better their own chances of success. The rest would kill her just for being her mother’s daughter-like Xaden Riorson, the most powerful and ruthless wingleader in the Riders Quadrant.

She’ll need every edge her wits can give her just to see the next sunrise.

Yet, with every day that passes, the war outside grows more deadly, the kingdom’s protective wards are failing, and the death toll continues to rise. Even worse, Violet begins to suspect leadership is hiding a terrible secret.

Friends, enemies, lovers. Everyone at Basgiath War College has an agenda-because once you enter, there are only two ways out:graduate or die.
This is on my TBR . I heard its very good.
