So I am researching prostate cancer owing to my stepdads current battle with it. He was diagnosed with stage 3 or 4 (will know tomorrow) prostate cancer, he's 80 and not fit...

I was stunned to learn that 80% of us men will develop prostate cancer after we turn 80.

From google...4
About 80% of men over the age of 80 have microscopic prostate cancer cells in their prostate gland, according to autopsy studies. [1]

Understanding the Statistics
    • Autopsy Findings: Many older men develop slow-growing, indolent (harmless) prostate cancer cells that never cause symptoms or health issues during their lifetime. [1, 2]

In short, don't just let the SPs check your prostate - a simple blood test will show your PSA level, and is your warning sign to deal with it.

Yeah enlarged prostate as men get older is very common. As one here going through it the symptoms are slow flow urine, not emptying causing multi times in the night to go pee. Best to get that physical once a year when you hit a certain age. Or make an appointment if your having symptoms to get some testing done.

We have bodies that naturally last 40 years but we live till 80. As we age we accumulate genetic damage due to errors with cell replication, it is only a matter of time until the replication error results in cancer.

I imagine he is getting his Gleason score evaluated.

If you're on Facebook there is an excellent page..The Prostate Cancer Support Group which provides a thorough view of the treatments and outcomes of this horrible disease. I've found it invaluable.

My cleaning lady is a smart cookie, she saved my ass after I was discharged from the hospital.

What she says about Trump is probably true. She says fried chicken stays in your system like cement, restricting your digestive system from absorbing nutrients. Everything south of his stomach is dilated due to addiction to KFC.

So I checked with Jacques Pepin on how to roast a chicken properly.

They say Jack Reacher is a foodie, obviously. You don't get a physique like that by eating celery sticks.

I recently went for a colonoscopy. They found two likely benign polyps(sent for testing just in case) and one small hemorrhoid well in and fixed. Im now good for five years.

Always get your blood work done yearly as they can test for inflammation and that's a marker. Im good in all other markers as well.

Yep, need Fibre, fish three times a week. Lots of vegetables. Lots if anti oxidation like berries. And you can still have a steak, pork chop, lamb etc. Just do that smaller portion size. And only twice a week.

Cripes roast chickens are super easy.

Dry the chicken. Rub it with some olive oil, and coat with herb/spice mix. I use the President Choice one and it works awesome. Pre heat oven to 450 cook for 20 minutes, then turn down to 325 and cook for 20 minutes + 20 minutes per pound(you can go 10/half pound) let rest for 20, and make the gravy if you want it. Couple heaping teaspoons of flour in 2 cups water, gradually add to pan on stove top over a low heat. Use a fork to scrape and mix it until its the consistency and flavor you want.

Throw the carcass in the fridge overnight. Next day strip it into baggies and use it in sandwiches, stir fry, pastas, whatever.

If only people actually cared about their health instead of just eating animal remains molded into penis-shaped sausages.
Dude, I eat lots of healthy ways, but if you think I'm completely giving up sausages, fuck you.

And you will have to pry the bacon from my cold dead hand motherfucker!

Ono now look what you've done, you've triggered Mr. Sensitive.

There is another way to lower the risk of prostate cancer.

Common sense tells me that if lack of fiber and stuff staying in your colon increases your colon cancer risk, seminal fluid hanging around in your prostate will probably increase your prostate cancer risk.

Let us all know if they work.
But you also might want to check with your doctor. Gets some testing done. You don't want cancer to get to late stages so best to get some testing.
