Anyone else totally annoyed with passengers in TTC vehicles having phone or video calls or watching TV shows and not using headphones?

It is pretty routine now. There seems to be one or more passengers having phone calls on a speaker phone or having a Video call or even watching TV shows.
I find the scratchy sound and the exchange of words to be grating. I just get so annoyed by it.
I have actually held my phone that is playing music right behind the head of some of these people while they are on calls - they don’t even notice. I have bombed some video calls and these people also don’t notice (I can see myself in the background image).
Besides grabbing the phone and throwing it out the window, any other ideas? I thought of playing load moaning and screaming sound clips for porn movies but haven’t tried it yet.
Am I the only one who is totally annoyed by this behaviour?

Blame Star Trek Voyager then any show after that. Although STV it is an entertainment play, people assume that would be normal in the future so people are imitating a false social behaviour in which they think it is high society.

Then blame other things. Funny you mentioned this today. At work today, in the shop floor, one of the workers was on his cell phone by speaker and four of us can hear him from 100 meters away. Of course one of my guys asked, is he okay or is he talking to one of the Filipinos. I said cell.

We shook our heads. This world is going drone mode.

I saw reports of a few countries starting to place limitations and rules regarding social media access for younger persons (Denmark and Australia if memory serves), I'll bet that sooner or later there will be similar rules for other scenarios and the "older children"!😞😖

I'm sorry, how the fuck is this Star Trek: Voyager's fault?
So I am not degrading the show in anyway. I am saying monkey see silly thing on TV / movie and think they could do the same.

The characters walking around looking at their tablet or .... In the Star Trek universe, hand-held computing and display devices are known as PADDs (Personal Access Display Devices). On Star Trek: Voyager, these iconic, single-purpose or multi-use futuristic slates feature the distinct orange-and-red LCARS computer interface

and

Star Trek: Voyager communicator (or combadge) is a stylized Starfleet insignia featuring a split-elipse background with a rectangular base plate. Introduced during later seasons of Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Generations, and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, it served as the standard hands-free communication and universal translator device for the USS Voyager crew. [1, 2]

For example:
Remember the movie Sandra Bullock and Bradley Cooper starred together in the 2009 romantic comedy film All About Steve .?

Well in that movie Sandra character wore high knee boots. If you remember - and I did wondered why women were wearing these knee boots - in the summer. I saw the movie in the fall that is when I knew why women wore those high cut boots.

Or AI... The iconic bright red, knee-high boots are famously worn by Sandra Bullock as Mary Horowitz in the 2009 comedy film All About Steve. Throughout the movie, her eccentric character refuses to take off these shiny red go-go boots, famously explaining that they make her toes "feel like 10 friends on a camping trip."

The old adage - life imitating art, or ART imitating life.

No you are definitely not the only one annoyed, it's one thing to listen to it at a low low volume but these people are blasting it at max volume as if they're in their own home. It's absurd

So a minor TV show from 30 years ago where people walked around talking on their devices has led to society watching TV shows and talking on their phones in public?

There are more. I am sure there must be a video on youtube about it.

There are other factors.

How are you going to explain to your significant other on the phone you are at Walmart doing shopping, when in the background you hear all this knotty stuff. She’ll think you’re at the strip club like to see how you’re going to explain that one
Then you get the weirdo across the isle fapping to your convo.🤮:ROFLMAO:

I was on the bus a few weeks ago and there was a woman very loudly talking on a speaker phone everybody around was annoyed by her kept staring at her she just ignored them. So this guy behind here rings the bell to get off,the bus rolls to a stop the door opens the guy grabs a woman's phone smashes it on a handrail and walks off, the woman was just stunned and just sat with her with her mouth open for a second then everybody around laughed it started clapping

I try to ignore the best I can, not worth the chimp out, unless you're ready to fight in the street
