I know a few East Indians guys. They spent their Christmas / Boxing Day at Niagara Falls Casino. One guy lost 500 in one night.
They complaint that the casino was full of East Indians, Asians and Arabs.

So their parents aren't getting anything for quiet a while.

Lots of people have lost a fortune, for many its a addiction. Bruno Mars apparently owned MGM 50 million in gambling debts.

Colonel Tom Parker, Elvis Presley's manager, had it worse.
From Wikipedia:
Gambling
Many Parker biographers, including Dirk Vellenga and Alanna Nash, have stated that Parker's gambling habit began to get out of control in the mid-1960s. During the 1960s, with his wife's health deteriorating and Presley's career struggling, Parker found an escape in gambling at Las Vegas casinos. Fans and biographers alike believe that one of the main reasons Parker signed Presley to a Vegas hotel in 1969 for his live comeback was to help cover losses at their casino. He would often spend 12–14 hours at a time gambling in the casinos, betting large sums. It is believed that Parker lost at least $1 million a year from gambling. At the time of Presley's death in 1977, it was suspected that Parker owed the Las Vegas Hilton over $30 million ($155,667,216 in 2024 dollars) in gambling losses. After a lifetime that saw him earn in excess of $100 million,[76] Parker's estate was worth barely $1 million when he died.

Also Dana White of UFC fame:
from a Toronto Sun article Sept. this past year...
UFC boss Dana White reportedly owes $25 million in gambling debt
The self-confessed 'degenerate gambler' reportedly could owe up to $50 million to Red Rocks Casino

So PvtJoker, you only lost your escort budget for the month.
Just don't try to chase your losses, like many people do.
That's how some people get into BIG trouble...

This is what I don't understand about casinos. Why do they give a credit line or a loan when it is likely that there is no chance in hell they will get it back?

I heard some bankers ( they work for the banks close to Wall st. ) in NYC they owe money to NJ state Casinos. Here is the kicker one of them tried to borrow money from a friend. Friend - loaner to be - asked "how you going to pay me back if you can't pay the casino?"
Borrower " take me to TV small claims court and you will get it back" . Like really did you escape from the day care centre or the hospital.

While it's not like the old days when the mobs ran the casinos and they could get you to pay your debt no matter where you are, if the debt was large enough to be worth the trouble and effort, it doesn't work that way today.

But casino operators know that enough people will voluntarily pay off their debts to more than cover the risk of losses due to unpaid credit lines, and those loans allow people to keep chasing their losses and get deeper "in the hole"...

Gambling is truly a gullible fools game.

The casino âlways wins.

Well... unless it is a 🤡Trump Casino🤡
About 15 years ago, friends of mine who are from the UK came over for a visit. We were in Niagara Falls and they wanted to visit a casino -- they'd never been to one before.

So we go, and my friend and his wife drop $5 into one of the one-armed bandits, and after two or three plays, they won $800. Before they even knew what was happening, I pressed the "Cash Out" button, handed them their winning ticket, and said "we're leaving NOW." Thankfully, there was no protesting and they left $795 richer.

I don't feel so bad losing about $800 last year. Much thanks to the NFL and its fixed outcomes.

A few years ago, I was in Vegas playing poker in a well-known resort’s poker room. An Asian lady a table away was incredibly angry and swearing her head off while playing pai gow. I asked my dealer why she was so upset. He replied : “you’d be pissed too if you lost 250k today”.

Have they put the poker room back yet? Haven’t been there in years but would like to come back. The last time I was there they had closed the poker room and the tables were just in the middle of the casino floor, more or less.
