Text app recommendation / alternative number

Free number changes = Asshole behavior
$$ to change number = people being respectful

If people who used texting apps brought value instead of drama it would be a different story.

Almost every single person who uses their real number with a major carrier shows up to their appointment and are nice and respectful. They are curious NOT rude or pushy. They dont ask the same questions 5 different ways and then get nasty when you are tired of being strung along.

They're just regular people who dont have extreme mood swings when they're told NO.

Thats another fun "type" of person that uses texting apps. The guys that lose their mind when you tell him "NO"

When some guy can't hold it together and explodes over text because he's got anger issues... hes got one shot and he blew it. He doesnt get infinite shots at being an asshole.

I also stopped getting asked for bbbj and bbfs all the time. People who reach out have read my ad.

All of the bullshit that comes with this job suddenly dissapeared when I stopped allowing people that cant control themselves to have access to me.

I've used a lot of different mobile providers due to boxing day or black Friday deals.

You can just change your mobile number for free with a few clicks on almost every mobile providers website. Even Roger and Telus.

Well, it sure seems as if someone has pissed in someone else's Corn Flakes ®️ this morning!

This might sound odd or even imprudent, but I don't use text apps or a burner or a so-called 'cheap' carrier (is there really such a thing as a cheap cellular provider in Canada?) to contact MAs or SPs.

I use a legitimate phone number from a well-known cellular provider and I have the same number since getting it 6 years ago. But it's a number that I won't be using to contact a certain someone even though I would be considered 'nice and respectful' rather than 'rude, disgusting and awful'.

I think what you're missing is that i'm not attacking people who are genuinely looking for a service provider.

Just like how there are 10-15 scammers some days for every legitimate escort.

Same goes for potential clients. Some days there are more fakers than real people and when I stopped allowing texting apps all of those problems stopped.

One of the ways I weed out time wasters and the scammers (who contact us too by the way. They contact us and dont show up and send us on outcalls to places that arent expecting us)

is by filtering out texting apps mainly but I frequently have issues with a specific carrier that people use as a burner. Maybe it was just a popular burner option in the area I was in.

The fact that you have the same number and you maintain the same number means that you dont have issues with people and you are respectful.

Men who don't have the ability to control their emotions or be respectful make frequent number changes.

Just like how escorts change their number to avoid taking responsibility for things they've done in the past... men use texting apps to be anonymous and to avoid taking responsibility for being awful.

I apply the same logic that you guys apply to escorts to potential clients.

If they can keep the same number and its not a cheap burner they're not hiding anything and they're not avoiding taking accountability.

If you are not a man that abuses women and harasses and stalks escorts. If you don't assault them , if you don't call them names and say disgusting things... I'm not talking about you.

I'm just saying that if you choose to use a texting app , you get lumped in with all of the abusers and time wasters and it could affect your ability to contact a legitimate provider because...

Why would anyone put up with that if they don't have to?

I use Text free. It has annoying Ads but it's free lol. Have to pay to use it without Ads. Also you have to pay almost $10 per month to change your number. I'm not invested enough with this "hobby" to pay for a number change or go Ad free. If a provider doesn't accept my text app number I simply move on, Plenty of Fish .

The best thing about using an app from a client's perspective is discretion. You can hide the app, turn off notifications, reinstall and continue from where you left off. For those with an SO it can be crucial in not getting caught and losing everything.

Some providers will accept references or deposits in place of a "real" number. So there is a work around if needed.

I started blocking text apps about five years ago, and it’s been one of the most effective screening tools I’ve implemented. It’s dramatically reduced harassment, fake bookers, nuisance inquiries, and messages from people I’ve already blocked. This has not only improved my mental well-being and safety, but dramatically improved my business.

I can still see the messages, so if someone genuinely stands out and I have the time, I’ll reply—but I require a reference. Unsurprisingly, very few of those inquiries come with a solid one.

I also have a booking form for anyone who wants an alternative to a cellular or complete discretion. In my experience, almost no one who reaches out via text app is willing to take that small extra step. That alone tells me a lot.

No offence intended to clients who prefer text apps—there are always exceptions—but from many sex workers’ perspectives, the time spent sorting through the noise to find the rare good client simply isn’t worth it. Sex workers already carry a much higher share of the risk in these interactions, which is why we require at least some form of screening in order to protect ourselves. Text apps just make it far too easy for predators and bad actors to hide their identity. Blocking them is the simplest and cleanest way to avoid the worst players.

This is especially important for touring providers, who need systems in place to lock out the fake bookers that notoriously prey on us when we’re away from home.

I understand why some clients prefer the anonymity and convenience, but in my view it’s not the most effective or respectful way to approach a sex worker and will limit who you are able to connect with. If a smaller pool of options with inconsistent responses works for you, by all means go ahead—but then don’t get upset if your messages aren’t responded to in a timely fashion or at all. Don’t get upset if you’re treated with some scepticism and asked to jump through additional hoops. And don’t be surprised if someone else scoops your requested time. Other clients are approaching from the VIP line to get our first and best attention. 🙏❤

Oh my god. Well said.

The improvement in my mental health alone from blocking apps is incredible.

I feel safer. I'm not constantly questioning what I did wrong to deserve to be mistreated.

Every person that books with me is legitimate.

I did have someone read these messages and then reach out with a real number and then message me from a texting app being gross... but who cares. Thats says more about them than it does about me.

Some people have way too much time on their hands. I didnt know existing could enrage someone so bad because I've never done anything to deserve being mistreated the way I used to be mistreated from these apps.

It takes a pretty small man to go out of his way to do that. It's giving small dick energy 😂

You described it perfectly. That it's just noise. It's just constant pestering and nonsense from these apps. Its not worth it. It is a complete shit show.

FYI, Ladies if you're accepting Text apps then don't use the word "Code" followed by numbers. Use "Buzzer" followed by number instead. Some apps won't sent the buzzer number if a client is using a free version of a texting app. Might cause delays or even last minute cancellation.

So inquiring minds want to know, the choice to use an app is to keep things off a principle phone. Is it truly a worry what a lady will take from this? Would it even truly be worth their while? Burner or a work phone seems simpler. Furthermore there are so many other methods like Bluesky, X, or jsut email to ask your questions, arrange a date, and get the room number (heck it seems even TERB might work). Is texting just the most preferred?

Speaking for myself, the majority of my clients simply reach out from their regular cellular, if you don’t have a particular concern over someone finding your messages and are booking providers you’ve already screened for discretion and safety, you should be fine.

If you’re worried about someone close to you finding your messages, a burner phone can be a good option. Lucky and Public Mobile have plans with unlimited text for 20/month and you can also turn off the automatic renewal so that you’re not charged for a month that you don’t use the line.

If you’re looking for a free private option, many providers have booking forms to communicate by email. ☺

Seems like it would go a long way to making the ladies happy. I’ve never known a lady to free a bad date and know first hand when Ruby Lust is smiling and happy during a PSE upgrade she will teach you and introduce you to lots of new things

That's honestly just how it is.

I don't necessarily think that lucky mobile in itself is a terrible company to use , but I think they allow for free number changes so people dont learn how to be on their best behavior.

If there are NO consequences for being rude, disgusting and awful people just continue doing the same things.

I don't think a lucky mobile is a terrible company but the people who use lucky mobile are generally terrible and its probably because they can harass hundreds of women with one number... and then a month later change their number for FREE and start all over again.

People who want to waste time and be jerks dont really have money and they have A LOT of time on their hands.

You know what I've found in my years of experience?

Men dont pay to harass women. They would never pay $20- $30 to change their number with a major company just to bother someone. These free apps are a stalker / time wasters dream.

It's the bums with no money who use texting apps and use carriers that allow for free number changes that are a problem.

I'm not saying every person that uses a texting app is a bum or a loser but a lot of bums and losers use them. A lot of crazy ex boyfriends and a lot of people that cant control their anger. One woman uses them to fake book other escorts and send them nasty messages

I have a 0% booking rate with lucky mobile. Just lots of questions, lots of small talk and requests for free photos that are available online.

If the majority of people using texting apps are awful and dont show up to their appointments and are rude and downright disgusting and ignorant... and then you cut out texting apps and all of that behavior stops... It's pretty safe to assume that the majority of people who use texting apps are not even worth talking to let alone booking with. Even if like 10-20% of them are decent.

These budget carriers that allow for free number changes create the same issue.

You people can do whatever you want but I pretty well cut out all time wasters and fake bookings just by not engaging with texting apps or lucky mobile. If lucky mobile charged even $10-$15 for a number change I dont think the bums that spend all day harassing people would bother changing their number. They're broke. Thats why they spend all day trying to get free stuff and getting mad at women for not giving them free stuff.

I cut out almost ALL time wasters and I have more free time and time and energy to focus on the people that matter ❤
Thats BULLSHIT. I use text apps since they came out never had an issue and never heard a single SP complain about. They are all bums with no money???? Really
You just sound like a bitter.... well you know.

Dual sim phone are not rare
Dual Sim can definitely be an option if you’re just worried about the person on the other end having your number, but doesn’t provide discretion if you’re concerned about a partner finding your phone. These days it’s fairly easy to find an inexpensive used phone and many of us have an old one sitting around anyways.

Yeah, that’s gaslighting. It isn’t a secret that a lot of providers screen or refuse text-app numbers. Unless someone writes back and tells you they filtered you, you have no idea you were even in the junk pile.

Those numbers recycle in minutes. Block one, and the same guy can tap “new number” and start the whole audition over. Screening them is a filter — safety, boundaries, and avoiding extra labour for someone else’s entertainment, not bitterness.

This does not preclude that some providers are using them, nor that a handful of actually decent clients might use them. I did too when I was new in the industry. But the minute my books were good enough to have my own line and drop the apps, I did. And my good clients adjusted how they reached me, or they sent a reference. If your text-app line has never been a problem, congratulations. That is a data point of one. In my circle almost nobody takes them, and the few who do still want some other sign you are not a bad apple.

Thank you @SinnamonFairbanks for explaining the Lucky number-change loophole. If you are on the receiving end, you can report those numbers to the carrier. Lucky’s terms ban using the service to harass people. Call 1-833-885-8259 or use their contact form, send the numbers, dates, and screenshots, and call it a terms-of-service / harassment report. They will not give you a name but may kill the line or restrict the customer.

I definitely agree with your points about harassment being a possibility. If I have an issue with certain mobile carriers, I have a way of screening those numbers along with text apps into a junk pile on my phone. I’m happy to share my system with anyone who might find it useful.

Bottom line: text apps are not a reliable way to book A-list clients. They increase chaos and reduce our capacity to run a professional, safe business. If you’re using them, I highly recommend another layer of screening — an excellent reference in your pocket, at minimum.

Texting from a real number is preferred. People might be hesitant to communicate with you on a social media platform because they can have their account banned. Even platforms like x that allow for things like that can suddenly change their terms of use. And then every conversation, and every post you ever made will be used against you. There was a period of time where I was being flagged for so many posts, I didn't even know if I would still have an x account. It's still there, but every time I logged in. I was being flagged and warned for something, and I did not use it to communicate whatsoever.

I need my established social media to prove that i'm not a fly by night person. Having to start over would be awful. I personally don't communicate on social media i don't even talk to people who don't have established accounts.

I have had people on social media contact me on their best behavior because they can't say anything rude, but then when they texted me, they had the highest red flags they could possibly get and they immediately became disgusting when they got my number. That was over a year ago and I really haven't put up with any abuse since.

There have been some strange messages. Mostly drunk people and people thinking, i'm a bot. People think they can say whatever they want to a bot/scammer

I have had a person reach out through social media and everything checked out... their number checked out and then they didn't show up to their appointment. When I check their social media they had absolutely erased everything. All of their pictures and all of their followers and everyone they followed.

I have less of an issue with this because if someone wants to take the time to do all of that... they are wasting more of their time than they are of mine. They obviously spent hours trying to fake book me and wasted a little bit of my time. If someone wants to spend an entire day trying to fake book me, I think that's crazy. But at least they can only do it once. With a texting app, they can do it all day, and fake book someone ALL DAY.

Now I can see them trying to fake book me. In the last 2 days I've had five or six people that I know were going to fake book me multiple times and that's only because I've been advertising. I honestly hate that I pay money to be on these people's radar for a day or two.

It's about saving time and energy and allowing me to focus on the people that I need to focus on.

Best case scenario, someone just books an appointment and shows up but if it was as simple as getting an appointment and getting ready for an appointment and providing the service , I think everyone would do this.

People quit because of the harassment.

It's great if you're established and see all of the same people... But when you're new, or you're starting off in a different place for every one person that books you, there can be ten or twenty people that are just wasting your time and the people with the intentions to fake book waste so much time and energy. They are so much worse. Then theres the guys who ask the same questions different ways. Fake bookers sound like legitimate clients right up until the last minute... i think that's what makes them so frustrating because you have to get ready for them like you would any client and you're mentally preparing and making everything perfect and they dont show up.

I also think that people create programs to contact us as well. I had a full conversation with a bot. When it ran out of script, it started repeating the same conversation verbatim. I had a friend who's more tech Savvy than I am explain to me that anyone can create these bots and that all of the information they need to know to create it step by step is available online.

I used to think it was other girls in the area doing it, but I think everyone has better things to do. There is one specific woman I think she does actually go out of her way to do all of these things, but I also haven't been harassed by her for a very long time. People used to contact me and try and involve me in all kinds of drama. They used to tell me what other girls would say about me ect. They would try to create beef between me and other people I don't even know.

All of the issues surrounding doing this for money are basically resolved by not accepting texting apps.

So while some people do still accept texting apps, it's not in their best interests.

If you had like twenty people a day harassing you and fake booking, you and bothering you while you're at your job, saying, crazy stuff and you found a way to make sure you didn't have to deal with those people...you would use it.

So while there are legitimate people who use texting apps, I feel like there are far more people who use it that have bad intentions and if you answer them once they don't stop. One single person can pose as multiple people.

People who have broken rules and pushed boundaries and ended up on a shit list Use texting apps to harass women who refuse to see them.

A lot of people have crazy ex boyfriends. Clients that they had to let go.
People that have hurt them et cetera.

It's just not worth it. There is almost no benefit to accepting texting apps. Sure, I might miss out on a couple of clients, but the relief that I get far outweighs any financial loss.

Almost every single person that books with a real phone number shows up.

I see posts of people trying to encourgae members here to see a really good woman who is travelling... And those women are talking about not wanting to come back because of how they're treated in a certain area... That's not you guys. That's the scammers and the time wasters... That's the people using texting apps.

I saw one post several months ago about how a guy saw a woman He thought was fantastic and was encouraging other people to see her because she had been fake booked all day, and she wasn't sure if it was worth it to come back... she wasn't filtering out texting apps, so it was literally the same person or the same people fake booking her all day.

There's also, not just a cost associated with the person not showing up... There's a loss of income from choosing the person that's not going to show up over the person that was going to pay. So it's lost revenue from a person who was a legitimate client who didn't get the time slot. Because the fake booker got it. I rely heavily on repeats, so I choose repeats before I choose a new person... but if I lose someone who was planning on seeing me multiple times I didn't just lose the opportunity to make money off of them one time I lost the opportunity to see them multiple times and i'm also losing out on my free time.

When I was still accepting texting apps, I was frustrated and angry at how bad I was being treated.

I still have to take other precautions and I still filter people out past using a texting app but not allowing people to have access to me. In that way has changed my view on this type of work immensely.

I used to make a lot of money but I was so burnt out and I was so angry all the time because of how I was treated.

That's their goal is to overwhelm women.

If you give them a schedule, they want to see you before you start or they want you to stay later, then you planned on staying, and then they don't show up. They fake book all day.
It's like a full time job for them to harass women off leo's list.

* I came back and edited this because I was using speech to text*

That's exactly the perfect way to describe it. It just increases the chaos. It's allowing chaos into my life. It's like a circus.

I'm trying to offer an intimate experience and if I am overwhelmed and angry and someone just called me the worst names I could ever imagine or fake booked me for hours. I'm not in a good headspace.

I'm getting much better feedback from people.
I don't mind giving people the extra time and attention because I know I have so much extra time now that I don't mind treating the clients that do show up extra special because they have been respectful of my time and it costs me absolutely nothing to do it.

I'm not trying to squeeze in as many appointments as possible to try and mitigate all the fake bookings.

I have less bookings, but they are almost all legitimate bookings, so I can properly prepare for them. I'm in a better headspace.

I remember when I was accepting texting apps I was so angry all the time because I didn't even have time to use the washroom. I didn't have time to eat. I was losing sleep. I was frustrated that I felt like i was losing money, and I was kind of resentful of potential clients because I felt like they just wanted to violate my boundaries all the time, but it's not actual clients that do this. Real legitimate clients don't treat people like shit.

I have been able to recognize the pattern that all of the problems and the abusive behavior came from texting apps specifically.

I used to absolutely hate advertising and I used to absolutely hate answering inquiries but now I dont mind it. I still know that if I advertise, i'm putting myself out there to be contacted by all the time wasters, because when Im at the top of the list, all of the people with nothing better to do are contacting me looking for a free chat but they're not rude and disrespectful anymore.

It is such an absolute shift in my attitude from just taking a few small steps.

I stopped being asked for B. B. F. S every day. I stopped being asked for services I don't provide. I stopped being asked for drugs. I stopped being contacted by a lady telling me how fantastic she is all day and hearing about all the horrible stuff she says about me and rumors she apparently starts with her clients.

I used to be in my own bubble, doing my own thing and people would contact me with all this stuff some woman was saying about me and I didn't care. I maybe engaged a little too much by saying stuff like "that doesn't mean much coming from a person who xxxxxx xxxx xxx". That's my bad. I should have known better. I was just encouraging those people to come to me with more drama.
I should have been focusing more on my hobbies. They're more productive.

I still get contacted by these people and I still get the occasional request for unsafe services but it's not constant

People are on their best behavior.

I was putting up with so much abuse and harassment that I would be triggered by my phones ringtone. It would just put me in a state of agitation and completely affect my mood, and I had to keep my volume off.

I actually get excited when my phone goes off now and that is huge. I'm excited to offer people services again. I like what I do.

That is such a major shift. I used to dread having to advertise and answer inquiries. and if I went on vacation, I did not want to come back. I had such major anxiety about having to advertise and put myself out there. I was burnt out and I wish I had started filtering people out sooner.

Just for reference, I had five or six people try to fake book me yesterday, and I put out an ad last night because I had some brief availability. I had three numbers try to fake book me today. Tomorrow I will probably have less and if I don't advertise for a week, they will try at least once a day.

Every time I advertise there is up to ten phone numbers that are trying to fake book me. On a good day, only two or three try.

They're not just bothering me, they're bothering every person at the top of the list.

One of them had the most red flags I have ever seen. I don't know what that person's doing to make them a super douche... But i'm glad I dodged that problem 😂
