Doesn't seem staged.
This sounds familiar.
"Anti-migrant sentiment has gained political currency in recent years with some believing foreigners are taking jobs and unfairly benefiting from public services."

Let me educate you. Under apartheid, South Africa had a closed economy due to sanctions. Businesses thrived due to lack of competition from imports and unemployment was low across the board.
The end of apartheid brought an end to sanctions and imports flooded the country. Many local businesses closed and unemployment rose steadily. It also brought a massive influx in illegal immigration to the point where there are an estimated 2 million illegal immigrants in the country. So, ironically, the fortunes of blacks have declined significantly since apartheid was abolished: political freedom came with worse economic prospects exacerbated by illegal immigration.
The protesters are against ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS, who tend to be blacks from neighbouring and other African countries. They are not protesting against blacks because of their skin colour.
For reference, I am a black Canadian who was sent to open a new branch of our company in South Africa. I was there for 5 years and never experienced any discrimination.
I hope you have been educated. But feel free to ask any questions.
