It was the Immortal Regiment walk. Commemorating those that died defeating the Nazis in WWII. I have never attended but would like to some day. Millions in the USSR died for our freedom and actually liberated many death camps. The USSR also POUNDED the Japanese and considering what they did to my family I am grateful. The Ukrainians OTOH joined up with the NAZI and participated in the massacre at Babi Yar and various horrific massacres against Poles and Hungarians.

It may have been a product of forced collectivization. All this alleged Russian hatred against Ukraine is nonsense. Khrushchev was Russian and famously very fond of Ukraine. But of course the Ukrainians try to make out like it was only them, just like Jews pay no attention to the non-Jewish victims of the Holocaust. Ukrainians were less the half of the victims of the famine.
