Edmonton over Anaheim in 5.
Buffalo over Boston in 5.
Tampa over Montreal in 6.
Carolina over Ottawa in 4.

In the West I got Avs, Mammoth and Oilers. No clue about Stars and Wild, that one I think is going to be a coin toss.

In the East I got Buffalo, Carolina and (much to my chagrin) Tampa. Pens and Flyers are the coin toss in the east

I can easily see the finals being Avs v. Sabers as both teams are scary good

Stars/Wild - Wild in 7 but honestly I have no idea
Oilers/Ducks - Oil in 6
VGN/UTA - Vegas in 6

Buf/Bos - Sabres in 7
Habs/Bolts - Bolts in 7
Canes/Sens - Sens in 6 (my upset)
Flyers/Pens - Pens in 7

Colorado wins it all. No one can touch their talent down the middle.

I'm liking several of these matchups but the best one has to be DAL vs. MIN. Its just a shame that this idiotic format pits the 2nd vs 3rd place team in the conference while the 5th place team (EDM) gets to play the 7th place team (ANA).

Eastern Conference

CAR vs. OTT. So many people are calling for the upset but I don't see it. CAR in 6
BUF vs. BOS. Upset alert. BOS in 7. Not a lot of playoff experience on that BUF roster.
TB vs. MTL. TB in 6. No Dobson, a banged up Carrier. MON can't afford to lose guys on the back end.
PIT vs. PHI. PHI in 6. Hate to go against Sid & Co. but the PIT goaltending is PITiful.

Western Conference

COL vs. LA. I'll give the Kings a game. COL in 5.
VGK vs. UTA. Since Torts took over VGK looks like a new team. 7-0-1 to end the season. VGK in 6.
DAL vs. MIN*. If ever there was a true coin flip this may be it. This will be a battle. MIN in 7. Just a hunch.
EDM vs. ANA. EDM PP is lethal and ANA takes the 6th most penalties per game in the league. Doesn't bode well for them. EDM in 5.

I think it would be amazing if the Sabres got to the final. However the majority of their roster has never even played one playoff game in their career. I would think that would make this scenario almost improbable, no?

But I'm thinking
Tampa vs Colorado Final is the better bet

I would love to watch a 2nd round series between Buffalo and Mtl - basically 2 of the 3 fastest teams in hockey. That would be fun...

Normally I would agree with you, however past seasons have shown that teams with momentum can go far in the playoffs. Be it St. Louis and Washington on their cup runs or Montreal during COVID. A team that gets hot at the right time can do damage and since Buffalo shit canned their GM they have been like a cannon ball on fire. Arguably they have been better then Colorado during that period, I mean they didn't just squeeze into a wildcard spot...they won the atlantic, arguably the best division in the league. They are going to have some extremely stiff competition if they are going to make it to the finals granted but I would be extremely surprised if they are out in the first round

I can see the AVs taking the West. As far as the East goes, I'm high on the Canes, but in saying that, those young guns teams, like Buffalo and Montreal are sure impressing me. They don't seem to be fazed by the pressure, thus far.
