Trump is a vile monster.

Breaking laws, raping women and underage girls, seeking revenge on just about anybody who criticizes him, accepting bribes: I could go on and on.

However, with the war in the Middle East, gas and energy prices are going to skyrocket.

AI depends on energy.

Investment in AI is already starting to wane.

With huge energy prices, investment in AI will drop like a rock.

Maybe the AI Apocalypse will not happen.

People will not be able to afford food and rent, but at least we won't have the AI Apocalypse.

The AI bubble is absolutely going to burst and it will be an absolute blood bath in the financial system when it does but that isn't going to mean that AI is going to disappear. The dot com bubble was a financial disaster when it happened but the Internet didn't cease to exist because of it

I'm not really sure this is something the government can help with. The problem with this AI bubble is that the companies who made these LLMs have made a product that is, generally speaking, not even remotely good. If I have to fact check what a LLM is telling me then there's really no point in using it. Much less paying for it. Which brings you to another problem, which is that there really isn't a clear path to monetization that will cover the costs of spinning up the data centres the LLMs run off of, much less pay for the power required. I don't see where the government can step in and make things better, sure they can just print a tonne of money but you're just throwing good money after bad at that point and will be back to bailing the AI companies out in another year or two

Trump has nothing but insults and lies for US allies, it's going to cost him. The war with Iran is costing $2 billion a day. That's $42 billion over a three week period. This video is not current from March 12 but it gives a bleak picture.

Considering how much bond rates have risen since his war started, the added interest on the gov't debt lumps on another ~$10B over that 3-week period, plus there's losses from the slowdown in GDP as a result of energy prices (not sure yet what this'll amount to). So yeah, this has been a very expensive March.
