Hate to break it to you, but we are a country governed by laws, and Carney, no matter how much you both hate and wish that he was, is not a dictator. You realize that there are numerous levels of governments and First Nations to deal with? Now, I'm willing to bet you don't give a fuck about the indigenous peoples or their rights, but not getting them on board will just mean problems later on. And, while Carney can give Ottawa's approval, the bureaucrats still need to do their jobs. Then you need the provinces to agree. Alberta is going to rubber stamp anything, but BC has more issues.

Bill C5 says the federal government, provinces, territories, and Indigenous Peoples will talk and decide together which big projects are best for everyone, work to make sure they are built faster (with construction starting in about TWO YEARS), and that the provinces and Ottawa will work to make it happen. They are in the process of doing all that right now.

I'm thoroughly confused as to why you want me or DesRicardo to answer a question that could be easily answered by a simple google search on PP's policies and the platform he ran on? For starters he would prioritize the best interest of Canadians and our economic future as opposed to finding ways to boost the value of Brookfield so his 'blind trust' hits maximum value. Now don't get me wrong, I'm past the point of no return on this and I fully support Skidmarx systematic destruction of Canada. TBH I wish he was working faster. I want to see Canada devalued to the point of no return and it can't happen fast enough for me. It's New World Canada all the way for me. The Bill gives the government the authority to be the decision maker and grant approvals. they don’t need to consult, they don’t need approval from interest groups. Once a project is selected as having national interest they have the ability to sign off.
And why wait 2 years for approval. That defeats the purpose. If a company has already done the work for approval. Just get out the way.

I get it, you're not a lawyer, but Ottawa CANNOT just circumvent the provinces will, no matter how much you wish they could. Again, we are a nation of laws, and Mark Carney is not a dictator. Either is Danielle Smith, so she can't just start building a pipeline to the coast.
