I saw an RTX 5090 on sale at Canada Computers for $2900 back in October. I thought that because it's a power-hungry card, I would also need to get a larger power supply, at least 1000W. I didn't buy it, now I'm saying I should've bought it. Now they are at least $5K or sold out.

Yep. Saw the same thing. I was going to buy back then but held off expecting further price drops. Chip demand for everything has gone up.

So update on this (with timeline)....

Sat. 14th - Card arrived, installed, DOA, return process initiated.
Mon. 16th - Card dropped off at Purolator (Amazon chose them).
Thurs. 19th - Card returned according to Amazon. Refund granted.
Fri. 20th - Gift card balance restored.
Sat. 21st - Refund to Mastercard occurred.

Couple issues:

1. Purolator is still showing the card stuck in transit in Etobicoke and yet to be delivered.
2. Amazon is still showing the refund will not be credited until next week.

So Purolator and Amazon don't talk to each other all that well and Amazon's internal processes happen out of sync based on when they say things will happen.
As of this afternoon, Purolator is now showing the card was delivered last Wednesday. I don't think I would ever pick Purolator as a courier. It shouldn't take 5 days to update a website.

As someone who used to use Purolator a lot for deliveries, it's probably for the better you find that out now rather than later, they're not very good

ram prices seem to have started to go down for the first time in a while, might have to do with that AI algorithm advancement that reduces memory usage by google

Recently getting back into cd (optical drives) instead of ssd for storage, as some new technology available that lasts much longer, with double sided Read Write capabilities and much cheaper than ssd.

Tried to purchase a Pioneer BDR-XD08B at CC late last however has been discontinued.
