What is the logic behind "send me a photo so that I know it's you"

If someone finds my ad and contacts my socials what is the point in asking for a photo?

Is there something im missing?

How does this prove anything? I could just save a stolen photo if I was a scammer.

I just give these guys a hard time and block them because they feel like time wasters that want me to do a bunch of work for free that they can do themselves with minimal effort.

Is there an actual logic behind requesting a photo to confirm im "real" or is it just a time wasters effort to waste more time?

I was thinking about it over doing the dishes and I guess in theory if it was hacked or if I was a scammer posting multiple ads I wouldnt know what picture to send of which girl I was impersonating so it makes some sense... but not enough sense to do a bunch of work for free for some person ive never met on my day off... especially when im an open book and everything is available online

Do you send them a photo or just block them?

I basically tell them to kick rocks, but I was wondering if im missing something.

A request for a photo to confirm im a real person is a request I get at least once a week. Im not clear on what exactly this proves other than a man contacted too many prostitutes and doesnt remember who hes talking to.

I've never really got that either. If a reputable provider had a Web presence, Ie. a site and social media presence, that's good enough for me.

I'm guessing it's LeoList dumpster divers, Ie. the hidden gem club, who are venturing out of their comfort zone and are so used to be burned by fake ads, which their dumbasses keep falling for, that they don't know who to trust.

I've noticed a lot of the members of this board can't even perform the simple task of copying and pasting a link, I think that googling a number is beyond their limited grasp.

Most guys have probably been burned by using LL too much, don't really know how to do a computer search and/or don't know about TERB or discussion boards, therefore ask for a verifying pic. If you have any links, just attach them and if they still can't do it or keep bothering you just ignore them or block them.

I reason along similar lines as LTO_3. However I do understand how a guy could get to the point where he'd want verification on his end. Get burnt enough and you're not very likely to trust anyone. I've never really done that because I've learned my lessons from the Backpage days. I now to stick with providers that are reputable and have at least some sort of presence on TERB or the handful of agencies that have good reputations. Removes the dice rolling as much as possible.

If I were to ask for pics though I'd at least offer to send some money for them

There is no reason to ask just for a picture. But asking for a specific selfie (e.g., a picture with "left hand touching your forehead, pinky out, and left eye closed") is a good way to confirm identity.

I would just send a real photo because potential clients like to know what they are paying for. What's the big deal? :poop:

Because we already offer pics in our ads. Do your research.

Jesus, a provider can have a website with galleries, professional images and selfies and that still isn't enough for some of you idiots?!

Get off of LeoList already!

That's the closest I can see to a not-bonkers version of the request.
