I think this group of players is like a dysfunctional family.
After watching last night game, i am at a loss how this dosnt start with the GM and Berube, he calls out Woll on a game that the Leafs were out shot 3 to 1 and he expect to win the game. Maybe his system of hockey, dump and chase kills offensive zone entry and creativity. How many times has the defence dump the puck back into the offensive zone to have it turn back up ice. What i dont get is why there is no temporary coaching change for the last 10 games.

How does fan pay that kind of money at Scotiabank to watch this team. Fuck, coming up game again New York, i am almost wishing for NEW YORK to win to tank.

Woll stopped more shots in that game than the Senetor goalie and yet, Berube has the nerve to blame him other than himself. He must be feeling insecure for his job.
Berube and the GM should be fired end of season.
Feel sorry for Stolarz for being hit on the throat by puck during warm up. Must be really, really painful. Glad he is out of hospital now with no serious injury reported.

Leafs should catch St Louis for 5th. Then rely on the lottery not to be passed. St Louis is 7-1-2 in their last 10 games and is only 4 pts behind with 2 games in hand. Leafs have a game with them still and they have more regulation wins which is the tie breaker.

Wpg is in effect tied with the Leafs right now and they have more regulation wins. They're still in the playoffs race.

So it really comes down to catching one or more of NYR, Chicago, Calgary. All 12 games left all 6 pts behind. Leafs have 11 left. Bottom line is Leafs have to continue to play without passion, keep losing, and don't do anything stupid.

The most likely scenario is Leafs finish 5th. Lottery drops them down to 6th and the pick goes to Boston.

Excellent article in yesterdays SUN on Minten trade. i,ll say this, Minten is playing like he,s been with boston for a couple years, nice young player. But let me ask you, lotsa leaf fans saying Minten would have been a really good player for TRAWNA, two different systems, who,s to say Minten would have played for TRAWNA, like he,s doing in Boston:unsure:.

I've noticed over the years that Boston does quite well with their young talent. Brandon Carlo was a regular on the Bruins roster at 20. Marchand by the age of 22 and Begeron played his first full season at 19. Like Minten neither was a first round draft selection.

To your point, I remember a GM commenting a long time ago on questions about a traded player succeeding somewhere else or coming back to haunt you,
paraphrasing "You can't worry about what he does somewhere else, you can only worry about what he does here."

In Boston you're beholden to the system and the culture of the organization, in Toronto you're beholden to the players.
