Similar to us buying Canadian and putting items back made in US. Grocery chain changing their buying habits based on our demand. It has had a big affect I think to some of the States at least.

How can it be?? Canada cant really grow oranges cause of our shitty climate.
So we gotta import the little bastards, and turn them into something drinkable.

By setting up a manufacturing plant in Canada we are producing jobs, hence the "made in Canada" label.
Seems fair to me.

Either way, I'm having a couple of shots of vodka with some OJ right now. Cheers!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🍹
More accurately, they should say processed in Canada with imported ingredients, as I have seen potato chips labelled as such.

They get away with it through buying the oranges from other countries, but then bottling and labeling the OJ here in Canada.
I think thats actually fair since you need Canadian employees to do all that
In Quebec, it's standard procedure for the liquor control board to buy casks of wine from France, and then they bottle the wine locally. That's what's sold in grocery and corner stores.

It has a better affect if it coordinated. Kinda like everyone getting on board for buy Canadian and put US goods back on the shelf.

  • Consumer Behavior: Surveys indicate that a significant majority of Canadians have supported the movement, with some studies suggesting up to 71% of consumers intended to reduce their purchases of American products.
To support the consumer buy Canadian cause I read there was a 1.4M Facebook group. And apps for your phone that you can scan the product and it would instantly give you details to help you decide.

Has anyone used the Facebook group and if so how did that assist?

Has anyone used an app and if so which one and did it help at all?
