AI Overview(This is a men's forum, but good luck getting two men to agree on anything)

Recent data indicates a complex landscape for men's income in Canada, characterized by a significant, long-term decline in earning power for younger men while older men have seen their incomes rise.

Key Trends in Men's Income (1976–2025):
  • Younger vs. Older Men: For the first time in Canadian history, men over 64 are out-earning those aged 25 to 34. Since 1976, inflation-adjusted median incomes for younger men have decreased by over $8,000, while senior men have seen their incomes rise by over $23,000.
  • Stagnant Earnings for Young Men: Younger men (under 35) have seen their real, inflation-adjusted employment income drop significantly compared to 1976 levels.
  • High-Income Declines (2022-2023): Average income for the top 1% of Canadian tax filers fell by 0.6% in 2023, following a 3.2% decrease in 2022, largely driven by declines in employment income and the scaling back of pandemic-era government support.
  • Top 1% Income Gap: In 2023, men in the top 1% saw their average income decrease by 0.8% to $627,000, while women in the same bracket saw a 0.4% increase, indicating a slight narrowing of the top-tier gender pay gap.
  • Middle-Class Decline: There has been a long-term, substantial drop in the proportion of middle-class earners among all male workers since 1980.

I think 2026 will see a different trend line. I highly doubt Israel will stay at #8 as an example. And once the new energy prices, and economic downturn hits, its going to get ugly in some places.

seems very much tied to the presidential cycle. Biggest jump was 2022, biggest fall is 2025. Looks like a Trump Dump to me.

Israel is number 8 but Canada is number 25? I call bullshit on these reports.

I couldn't find the chart source, but the news outlets are reporting youth are the least happy.

I'd be pretty miserable too if I spent every waking minute doomscrolling Tik Tok, Instagram and any other form of social media currently over my head. Whenever I'm around my family all I see are teenagers glued to their phones. Socializing has taken a back seat, then we wonder why they all need anti-depressants...
