Jim Caviezel is a polarizing figure. He's a devout Catholic who's been ostracized by Hollywood for making religious propaganda. He was Jesus in Mel Gibson The Passion of the Christ, which I consider a glorified snuff film. Yet it has moments of genuine power concerning Christ's message. I looked at his future projects which are more religious based films. I didn't think much of him until I started streaming Person of Interest - it's blow away.

In 2023 he released Sound of Freedom a film about child trafficking. At the time it was shrugged off as more religious propaganda. Now the Epstein Files have changed the landscape, he's been exonerated...you will own nothing and be happy.

How has he been "exonerated"?
What was he "exonerated" from?

Been busy.
But I'm genuinely curious.
How has the Epstein files done anything to exonerate Jim Caviezel or have anything to do with this film?
The film was destroyed by critics as religious propaganda. The film made $250 million at the box-office, the critics were not appeased. Then the Epstein Files exploded, the ultra rich not being held to account for their depravity. The critics ended up with sburra on their faces.

Listen to what he says about Epstein...Sound Of Freedom was a good movie.

For some reason Hollywood didn't want to touch it...Hmmm..I wonder why.

The film has nothing to do with Epstein.
It's a serviceable, but not great thriller about kidnappings and trafficking by evil South Americans.

I'm still unclear why you think there is a link here.

What, that some preview audiences thought the island bit was representing Epstein island?

The film is a C+ action film. It's... fine.
Nothing special.

You chose this thread to spend your time with?

So much other shit to discuss.
1) Netanyahu being dead
2) Israel hitting Pars, Iran's response and the destruction of oil supplies for years.
3) Dems confirming Harris lost over the genocide
4) Iran controlling the narrative and Israel facing destruction

But sure, talk about a film.

Were the critics saying the film was unbelievable, or where they saying the performances, story, directing, casting, sound and visuals were lacking? I mean, just because a movie is semi-factual, it could still be a terrible movie...

It's not a terrible movie.
It's... fine. C+ Maybe B- if I'm feeling generous.

Lots of critics said you should ignore the culture war bullshit around it. You can browse reviews here.

There were people who found the marketing of the film distasteful.
There were also people who didn't like a film that said it wanted to raise awareness of child trafficking focus on a rare sort (kidnappings) since that seems like a wasted opportunity.
(They would have preferred it reflected something more like Epstein's activities.)

As an ex-LDS, Tim Ballard is full of hot shit.

He was part of a cult that was founded by a polygamous pedophile in Jospeh Smith, and a racist slavemaster in Brigham Young. Joseph Smith's wife Emma eventually left the church.

Ballard is also a descendant of pioneer Mormons. He did not willingly leave the church, he got excommunicated because there were allegations that he sexually abused and drugged women.

This guy does not give a shit about saving kids, he just likes clout.

Utah is home to "child-correction" schools which abuse and traumatize children..victims include Chet Hanks and Paris Hilton. And yes, these schools are run by Mormons.

I haven't seen it, so the film is a falsity?

Jim Caveizel isn't a Mormon he's a Catholic. There appears to be no scandal associated with him, he's been faithfully married for 30 years. With his looks and chops, he could have been swimming in pussy - had he chosen to.

Frankie, to quote Ricky, this war is depressing as fuck, DEPRESSING AS FUCK. I need a diversion.

Fair. I haven't seen it, but from what I remember people were saying back in the day was they made the threat of "stranger dangers" as overblown, since most kidnappings happen from someone who knows the kid or family...And the dude who its based off of was apparently a scum ball...
