Yes the Blues Bros are entertaining, but can,t hold a candle to the originals
i always found that this song starts off sooo good then it just sort of becomes a normal run of the mill 80s song

I get what you mean, it does tend to switch between two different styles throughout the song. That being said, I still enjoy it
I thought Knopfler first said the idea came when sitting in a bar and over hearing some guy talking about the easy money that rock stars get.
Then, it seemed he somewhat changed the story if I remember correctly.
Agree about 80s tunes in general. 70s bands started turning into plastic in the 80s.
