That's not the way I think most of us your so-called premise. But, the reality here is that we see no laws or decision made that could reasonably be argued he did to enrich himself. And, if he does, then I say bring the hammer. You keep throwing around shit like this ("He is a high ranking insider that has deep connections and is invested in funds that could, and arguably has influenced his decisions.") but offer no proof. So, please, put up or shut up.

As for these allegations that he violated ethics, anyone can make a claim. Proving it is another thing entirely. It is people like you who throw bullshit around that muddy's the waters and creates distrust in our institutions and politicians. I'm not saying Carney will always act ethically, though I believe he could. But I'm not going to just believe every allegation the opposition throws at him, because they have a vested interest to bring Carney down. Now, as I said, this is a thread about Trump. You cannot pretend he hasn't enriched himself, his friends and family while being President. He did it in his first term, and is doing it in his second term like he knows the end will be near.

As for ArriveCan, I think there should certainly be consequences to it. I used it recently after traveling abroad, and it worked well. But, the cost over-runs and the single-sourced contracts were ridiculous. But, we should also look at other issues, like the Phoenix Payroll debacle that Harper's government started (though Trudeau's government was left holding that burning bag of dog shit). The problem is many governments, from Alberta to Ontario, have done shit like this, even when there are rules about it. They should all be punished.
On March 16, Brookfield did a huge merger in the UK. My question to you, where was Mark Carney March 16?

It's not an allegation, He broke ethics. Period.
Everything he tells you Canada needs, he's invested in. Period.

If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's a duck. Now go put your clown mask on.

You can't take him seriously. You ask for proof, he gives bullshit. It's all about the "feels" when it comes to this, but facts never impress him if its against someone he likes...

I really get the impression that you don't understand ethics. There have been no formal complaints. So, what did he do, in your mind, that clearly shows he broke any rule? And, I don't mean you feel it. I mean actual facts. Showing a Brookfield press release that fails to mention Carney at all is pretty weak tea. Carney was in the UK meeting with his counterpart. Not helping with a deal between two public companies. I mean, it really is a creative interpretations of the facts. Clearly wrong, but still creative....

My guess is that Trump will die in office, given his deteriorating health.

Trump is gonna do a Biden and issue a blank pardon...don't tell me liberals hate blank pardons?
Oh, we know he's going to. The issue here is that Biden did it because he knew Trump would weaponize the DOJ and go after anyone. Look at what he did with Comey, James and Bolton. But, the pardon's Trump will issue will be for real crimes. Like, you cannot tell me Noem hasn't broken any laws. Actually, please, tell me you believe that. I mean, I couldn't think less of your political acumen, but it would be funny.

I sort of wonder if that's a good thing or not. I mean, the damage he's already done to the US, both domestically and internationally, will likely take generations to fix, if it ever could be. But, maybe Vance isn't a total tool, and he can start righting the ship. I sort of feel like Trump is a modern day Stalin. Doesn't like being told no, or hearing things he disagrees with. Ruled by fear (in Trump's case, by mean tweets). But, once they're gone, everyone will come out of the woodwork and say what a piece of shit he was and how they never liked him. Down will come his name from the Kennedy Centre, and I doubt they'll keep pushing for airports or bridges to be named after him. Maybe a sewage treatment plant....

Well, trump outlasted Netanyahu but I don't expect it'll be long before the knives come out for him.
The oligarchs will be out for blood for crashing the world economy all because he fucked kids.

Its not just oil and gas that are screwed.

The world could have also used a decade long public trial of Netanyahu.
But being dead will have to do.

The economic issues haven't even started to hit yet.

So you're saying Biden weaponized the DoJ for going after Trump? Your hypocrisy and TDS are like two peas in apod.

No, Biden's DOJ was not weaponized. And the fact that you believe it was shows how much of the Kool-Aid you drank. But, I'll play. Show me how the DOJ under Biden was weaponized. Please. I'm looking forward to dog-walking you through this. I'm like 99.99999999999% certain you'll regurgitate the bullshit that prosecuting Trump is proof...except for the fact that Trump credibly broke several laws.

But please, regurgitate. Let's see what mess you cough up.

They went after Trump with bullshit lawsuits - weaponized the DoJ
The people Biden pardoned, what were their crimes? Like I said...Hypocrisy and TDS is pure comedy.

I feel you don't understand ethics and in denial of certain things.

It the Ethics committee has guidelines for Carney to follow in regards of who can contact him and how they contact him, but it gets exposed that he is not following that guideline is that not a violation of ethics?

And denial is not an answer.

Which law suits are you referring to. Please be specific.

As for your idiotic gas price post....First, while the price of gas did hit $7/gallon in the US under Biden for a very brief period of time in one location (California), the highest national average was around $5 ....But it again hit $7 this month thanks to Trump.

Second, Biden did nothing to cause the price of gas to rise. That was due to COVID 19, the war in Ukraine and global market forces. But you must also understand that no Biden policy caused it. Anyone who understands economics (which you obviously do not) would see that.

Third, and maybe most importantly to this discussion, Biden never started a war in the Middle East that resulted in the Strait of Hormuz being closed, causing global energy prices to soar. That was Mango Mussolini. The fact that you could reason this on your own is both a little shocking and very sad.

You should really either get better at this or give up...

Has that happened? If so, please provide proof. Wild speculation does nothing but invalidate your argument.

As for your second paragraph, I assume you mean "If" the ethics committee....which mean they may or may not have guidelines. I honestly don't even know how to respond to this rambling bullshit. I mean, your scenario is so broad and poorly worded that I honestly couldn't answer you. Contacting someone, regardless of how (i.e. email, phone, carrier pigeon, in person) is not an ethics violation, and I highly doubt there are any guidelines like that. But, here's the thing: all elected figures have obligations under the Conflict of Interest Act. But, that doesn't mean someone cannot contact their MP at nearly any time. Or reach out to the PM. Now, the PM has staff that will be gatekeepers, so they could block or delay contact.

Anyways, you haven't shown any evidence that Carney has violated the Conflict of Interest Act or even tiptoed over the line on ethics. So, I don't really know what you're trying to accomplish.

So do you actually look at what I post or do you just deny everything negative towards Mark Carney.

This is why Canada continues to lose. People act like they are looking but they are asleep at the wheel. You've proven my point.

LOL. Okay buddy. You are so woke. Oh, wait, I bet you hate that word....

But, as I said, you can speculate and make accusations all you like, it is a free country. But, the reality is, you have no proof. Nothing. No IOTA of anything untoward. So, will it be like this anytime Brookfield makes a deal? Regardless of where or with who? You are the reason the Conservative party cannot get elected. You're in the fringe and it must really grind your gears that the party you support is losing ground to the LIberals in nearly every area...

Sure, you want to pretend that Liberal supporters are not paying attention, when the facts are that fewer and fewer people trust PP to lead. Hell, even his own long-held riding kicked him to the curb. Maybe you should spend some time reflecting on why the majority of Canadians chose Carney. Could it be years of experience and an understanding of the world that PP just doesn't have?
