You are trying to re-frame the premise. All I asked was for him to be investigated as he should be. He is a high ranking insider that has deep connections and is invested in funds that could, and arguably has influenced his decisions.
But I can go a bit further if you like. Why is Carney still having meeting with Brookfield executives? It's a clear violation, but I know you will dismiss and make excuses.
People like you are the reason Canada can get scammed by things like ArriveCan and have no consequences.
That's not the way I think most of us your so-called premise. But, the reality here is that we see no laws or decision made that could reasonably be argued he did to enrich himself. And, if he does, then I say bring the hammer. You keep throwing around shit like this ("He is a high ranking insider that has deep connections and is invested in funds that could, and
arguably has influenced his decisions.") but offer no proof. So, please, put up or shut up.
As for these allegations that he violated ethics, anyone can make a claim. Proving it is another thing entirely. It is people like you who throw bullshit around that muddy's the waters and creates distrust in our institutions and politicians. I'm not saying Carney will always act ethically, though I believe he could. But I'm not going to just believe every allegation the opposition throws at him, because they have a vested interest to bring Carney down. Now, as I said, this is a thread about Trump. You cannot pretend he hasn't enriched himself, his friends and family while being President. He did it in his first term, and is doing it in his second term like he knows the end will be near.
As for ArriveCan, I think there should certainly be consequences to it. I used it recently after traveling abroad, and it worked well. But, the cost over-runs and the single-sourced contracts were ridiculous. But, we should also look at other issues, like the Phoenix Payroll debacle that Harper's government started (though Trudeau's government was left holding that burning bag of dog shit). The problem is many governments, from Alberta to Ontario, have done shit like this, even when there are rules about it. They should all be punished.
