SGA scored 20 or more points in his last 72 games played during the 2024-25 season, and in each of the 54 games in which he has played in 2025-26.

He has tied Wilt Chamberlain's all-time NBA record for consecutive games played with 20 or more points scored, (126). He could set a new record on Thursday night, when the OKC Thunder plays host to the Boston Celtics.

I wish the refs didn't help him last year so much and the league and voters pushing the MVP onto him, Jokic deserved it a lot more in my opinion.
I was looking up how many triple doubles he has in his career, I expected a lot more than 2. Jokic is at 187? That's just wild for a center.
I think Wilt Chamberlain would have had more than that, if Blocked Shots had been an official stat during his career, (official from 1973-74 season). Wilt always had the points and rebounds, and he had good Assist numbers for a 1960's Center - see link.

I don't like the direction that the League has gone lately. More and more it resembles WWE.

Jokic is a great player. But triple double stat can be misleading. He is a forward/center playing close to the basket and can haul in the rebounds. His assists are helped by passing the ball out to great scorers like Jamal Murray
SGA is a guard so he plays on the perimeter. He is not going to get a lot of rebounds, which is why his triple doubles is low.

Oh he's beyond great, he can play any position on the court, can bring the ball up, can shoot in the paint outside at the 3. But that's what assists are aren't they? Passing the ball to someone and they score.
When they double team him, his vision and awareness of what's going on makes him such an offensive juggernaut, split second decision.

But even his double-double count is low for someone on the perimeter. Just looked it up and he has 41 for his career, he can easily penetrate and kick out as well, but he doesn't do it as much.

I want to like the guy more since he's a hometown guy, but his flopping the past couple of years turned me right off. How many points would he have really had if he didn't flop and had the refs give him favorable calls?
I like Edwards a lot more than SGA. I lost it a little faith in Luka because he complains way too much now especially after the trade, in Dallas he wasn't as bad.
I just lauded Jokic. But I explained why he gets so many triple doubles. That's all. BTW, he is not freaking beyond great!
SGA is a shooting guard not a point guard, which is why his assists are low. And a damn great shooting guard at that, which is why he will break the 20-point consecutive scoring record on Thursday.
SGA is one of only 4 players to win scoring title, regular season MVP and Finals MVP. He came up clutch several times during the playoffs last year.
You prefer Jokic? Fine. But SGA's record speaks for itself. It cannot be denigrated by you or anyone else.

J J Redick is LeBron James' bitch, not so much by choice, but by an understanding related to his hiring. Luka strongly objected to LBJ insisting that Bronnie be on the floor at the same time as Luka.

It's like when ten kids play in the schoolyard, one team has four decent players, and the other team has six, including the shitty player kid who's only there because it's his ball.

What happens when LBJ retires?

I sure hope he gets it. Such an unbelievable talent.

Both SGA and Jokic are amazing players who play completely different positions. As such its challenging to compare their stats to see who's worth more. All I know is that when both were out of their respective team's lineups, it was felt immensely. OKC was 5-3 without SGA and Denver was 10-7 without Joker. Despite during that stretch playing the Wizards twice, Brooklyn twice, Dallas and New Orleans.

SGA is the 2nd leading scorer in the league and rarely has an off night. His assist to turnover ratio is 3.15 to 1 which is pretty elite.
Jokic is the 5th leading scorer in the league and averages a triple double. If there was a knock in his game is that he only blocks less than 1 shot per game. His defense can be spotty. But what impresses me the most is how well he shoots from beyond the arc - 39.4%. And he's 84% from the free throw line. Big men are notoriously poor free throw shooters.

Hopefully the league will start to improve.
Last year's playoffs SGA scored 20+ points in every game except one against the Nuggets. I recently took heavy flak for saying that Zion Williamson owned Wembanyama, some of it unintelligible with lots of fangulas.

LBJ is the de facto GM of the Lakers, he's been undermining Luka since he came to the club. What happens when LBJ retires, the Lakers become contenders again.

a couple of Terbites may have a shot at it based on what i am reading ..

Probably why Wilt the Stilt didn't live to the ripe old age of 65. As for my above post, the still on the right is AI but the story is real. Lou must have been terrified with the family Jokic in his faccia. Fortunate that SGA was with him, they retreated to the locker for back up...not that it would have made a difference. It's a coincidence that two of the dirtiest players in the NBA are Luguentz Dort and Dillion Brooks.

Does Zion Williamson have ADD?

Everyone forgets that when Wilt Chamberlin played, there were no three-point field goals. When Wilt scored 100 vs the Knicks, he hit 36 2-pointers and 28 fouls shots, an absolutely amazing feat since he could never hit more than 50% of his foul shots. There should be an asterisk beside Gilgeous-Alexander's name next to Wilt's.

Wilt Chamberlain Game Logs, 1961-62 season

Possibly the most impressive stat from Wilt Chamberlain's 1961-62 season, the season of his 100 point game, when he averaged 50.4 points and 25.8 rebounds per game is that he played every minute of every game except one - on January 3, he was ejected after receiving two technical fouls, with 8 minutes remaining. In 80 games that season, he had 129 personal fouls, or 1.6 per game. Wilt didn't foul out from any games during his NBA career.

In the 1961-62 season. Oscar Robertson became the first player to average a triple double for a full season, (30.8 points, 12.5 rebounds, 11.4 assists). Bill Russell won the MVP.
