Providers (get close to the screen): Be street-smart;) and act in you own enlightened self-interest .... DO NOT plant any ideas in the heads of your regulars ...about freely providing a reference so that they can hookup with somebody else (it militates against you and your interests)!
(IT'S a BAD BUSINESS MODEL!)👎
Providers @ Top of Their Game know the recipe for success ... is to spoil their clients with White-Glove GFE with a bona-fide GFE playbook and skill set ... and make them smitten regulars coming back for more!;)
So much so ... that they will not be, the least bit, interested in asking for a reference to go see somebody else!

She panicked!:eek:

So, I could see the names of all of her clients!
(And, her client list consisted of their names and their occupations!)
I counted every name on THAT LIST!;)
There were 167 names on her heavily annotated client list!
For example:
Rob/Teacher, Ray/Golfer, Joe/Counselor, Zach/Actor, Art/Hedge Fund Guy, Tom/Chef, Mark/Podiatrist, Sy/Lawyer. Steve/Contractor, George/Pilot et.al!
It was most revealing!;)
There was one name on there that really took me aback:

Had a similar - but not as crazy - experience the first and only time I asked for a reference. It was clear that the SP was hurt/angry by my request. Things never recovered to where they were between us and I stopped seeing her as a result.

I think that a lot of ladies probably realize that it's the nature of the business.

I'd consider any provider getting jealous or possessive of a client to be a huge red flag.

One of my favorites who I had been seeing for 10 years got offended and gave a bad reference and the girl said that you need another refernce. I ended up seeing the new girl and didnt see my regular after that. Indont know why this cheap behavior.
