From 1979 to 1991 , there was a disco called Sparkles, at the CN Tower on the level Below the restaurant.
On April 10th only, a retro pop up Sparkles will be on the main observation deck from 8pm to 1am
I frequented it on weekends many times, anyone else go?
While going up and down the elevator, we'd sing "We can fall if we want to!" to te tune of "Safety Dance" LOL

Some of you may remember the news story where CFTO co-news anchor Gail Smith involved in a lawsuit in 1986 for allegedly assaulting a cleaning woman at the CFTO broadcast center.

The version I heard, from a reliable source: Gail was in her office giving a blowjob to then Argonauts quarterback Condredge Holloway. The door to her office was slightly ajar, and either Gail or Condredge noticed the cleaning woman peeping through the open door crack. The door was slammed shut, and in the process, the cleaning lady received a black eye from the door handle. The lawsuit was settled quietly to buy the cleaning lady's silence.

Subsequent to the incident, Holloway was shipped off to the Edmonton Eskimos, and Gail had a permanent leave of absence from the World Beat News. She later resurfaced briefly as evening news anchor for 'the new VR' in Barrie, before vanishing into obscurity forever.

Pat Marsden, (center), was permanently banned from at least one Las Vegas casino because his cheque for gambling debts bounced, and Pat basically said 'come and get me in Canada'.

My buddies and I started going when we turned 19. Drank the bar out of Kahlua night. Another night one buddy did a summersault right on the dancefloor. Another night we were betting to see who of us would yak on the elevator ride back down. Precious and irreplaceable memories.
