Perhaps the reportage is weak because the cable news networks don't have reporters in Tehran and the rest of the country.

I think this goes to further the point that you have to be careful which sources you follow. I'm on record that following some guy in a basement interpreting reports from the region on YouTube or Twitter is probably not going to be very substantive.
CNN does in fact. They are showing all the damage in Iran. But not in Israel. Because Israel won't let them.

What they are not doing is calling out the US govt and Israeli govt for not being given information. Thats their job.

The media on both sides are too cozy with at least one party. You even admit that.

Yeah, that was my immediate first thought.
It's almost like people want the cable news reporter to tell us exactly how close they got to the target and in which direction.

Phil.....

Did you just admit CNN is not an impartial news broadcaster, but in fact working as a propaganda venue for the Israrli govt?
No, how is CNN supposed to get access if the Israeli government wont let them show any missile impact footage??

Seriously, are you even thinking this through??!!

The doctor is in
So, oil spiked to almost $120 a barrel last night in premarket trading, and suddenly Trump is announcing that the war is almost ‘complete’ Coincidence?! Aside from a quick bombing campaign and declaring ‘victory’ for optics, there’s just no way. Pandora’s box has been opened, but anything to assuage the markets, right? lol.

My point stands. One of the corner stones of a functional democracy is a free press. A free press at its heart is adversarial to the government. It's supposed to be automatically skeptical. And to dig and investigate.

As to footage? Call for anyone to send it to them and they will publish it. In the era of cell cameras everyone can be a journalist. They don't need boots on the ground. They already do it for criminal investigations right?

And if the Israeli government, who is getting billions, and costing American lives for a war they started, doesn't like it, then they can pound sand. And be called out by the press for being authoritarian .

Phil. It isn't they are worried about targeting information. They are worried about public opinion. It's what killed the Vietnam War.

Let’s not be so naive. The Iranians will certainly have access to real time satellite imagery from Russia and China and know exactly what damage they have done. And given the number of arrests of Iranian spy cells in POS Nation, they have an extensive espionage network there as well. The ban on photos of damage is simply to keep their own citizens in the dark and public opinion docile. Bluster and self deception are the lingua franca of both POS Nation and Trump world. Truth is the enemy of both.

How do yo compare the Vietnam war (which was the US attacking Vietnam) to Iranian missile strikes being successfull inside Israel??

Lets hear this logic

WTF are you even going on about??!!!!!!!!!!!
Dude. During the Vietnam War the press showed war footage, and the body bags coming home, as well as listed the dead. They showed all the ugly. And it turned public opinion, forcing the end of the war.

On other words....the Sixties.

Now they restrict access to prevent public opinion from forming beyond what the Govt wants.

Get it now? Are you reading? My point is the govt isn't really restricting things for security, but to prevent a public relations backlash.

The point is, IT IS NOT THE MEDIA!!! They would like nothing more than to have "BREAKING NEWS."

The government preventing them by not allowing access is a different thing but it's NOT THE MEDIA...

this is the point you are missing.

If they are doing that well, then CNN should be around in its current form for awhile.
They have been cutting back so the owners have their reasons to believe it should be doing better.
It's not if, it's factually stated numbers.

For a large company like that $600M isnt a whole lot.

For comparison Fox News made $2.29 billion in 2025
See below, combine the two as opposed to FOX FAKE NEWS on their own....

CNN kills it with their YouTube channels and other streaming venues.

MSNOW
  • Revenue Streams: While linear TV, which includes MS NOW, is facing structural declines due to cord-cutting, it remains a cash-generative asset, with the company focusing on a 2026 outlook of $6.15bn to $6.4bn in revenue.

CNN

CNN is projected to generate approximately $600 million in adjusted operating profit for 2026, according to internal financial projections released by parent company Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) in January 2026.
Variety Variety +1
This figure reflects a decline in profitability for the network compared to previous years, as it navigates a challenging media landscape, shifting away from traditional cable toward digital and streaming revenue.

Key Financial Details (2026 Projections & Recent History)
  • 2026 Projected Profit: ~$600 million (adjusted operating profit).
  • 2026 Projected Revenue: ~$1.8 billion.
  • Revenue Trend: CNN's revenue dropped from $2.2 billion in 2021 to $1.8 billion in 2023.
  • Profit Trend: The network is no longer generating the near $1 billion in profit it did a decade ago.
  • 2023 Performance: Despite declining ratings, court documents indicated a cash flow profit of $424.9 million in 2023.
    Variety Variety +3
Future Outlook and Strategy
  • Streaming Focus: WBD is banking on CNN's digital strategy, including the "CNN All Access" subscription tier, to offset losses from traditional linear television.
  • Long-Term Revenue: While 2026 revenue is projected at $1.8 billion, WBD forecasts this to grow to $2.2 billion by 2030, driven by the digital transition.
  • Strategic Changes: CNN is set to be part of "Discovery Global," a entity slated to be spun off in 2026.

Thats not why Israel is restricting access, they are restricting it because they dont want to give the enemy insight as to how successfull their missiles were.

I mean really, you dont understand this??!!
