I just stumbled across this thread. Its intriguing that people with such polar opposite views partake in the same hobby, yet bring their views here to banter. I for one wish for a simpler time, where opposing parties came to an agreement and progress was made... the country's certainly not moving in a forward direction as extensively wrong turns have been made, but we need to get our shit together soon as relying on pensions full of worthless money isn't going to cut it. Elderly parents have almost no health care representation, yet theres articles about free massages and eye care and dental work in the papers... but not for people who've paid into the system for 60 years. I know several people who've cashed out, walked away from their 'pensions with benefits' and moved to places like Portugal. Is that the answer for our parents? Or is it time for both sides to cooperate and try and stop the bleeding?

A lovely sentiment but I'm afraid those days are in the distant past and yes, leaving Canada would be the best bet if that option is available. Sadly commitment has me trapped here and it's only going to get worse. RIP Canada.🤷‍♂️

Sure, old people are screwed by a lack of pensions and rising costs. Just as kids are screwed by expensive housing, shitty pay and lack of jobs.

We could tax the rich again.....

I see your points, but the youth elected trudea, and the retired elected Carney... now the people bypassing traditional immigration processing will reelect him with a majority. Surely all the students getting free tuition will outvote those paying taxes and tuition.... but in 2 years when they cant find jobs or houses they have a solid backup plan to return home with a Canadian degree under their belt. I just cant male sense of the logic.

So, in your opinion, Pee Pee would have solved the problems you see in Canada?
