Smoking is by far the strongest risk factor for oropharyngeal cancer. However, as smoking has become less common over the last 3-4 decades, the number of oropharyngeal cancers attributable to smoking has declined. So now more oropharyngeal cancers are attributable to HPV. Need to distinguish between individual risk, and population risk.

This is a good statement. There is a difference between absolute value and relative value. These are two different things.

For the last 20 years, the girls all get HPV vaccinated when they’re around 13 years old. So most of the Canadian SPs have been vaccinated.

Add to that, if you’ve been hobbying for a while, you’ve already been exposed.

This is really only an issue for young men who have never been exposed seeing older and/or foreign women who have not been vaccinated.
