Trump is a fool.
Apparently he wants a quick exit from war.
Netanyahu must have promised him knowing full well that war is easier to enter than exit.
He must have calculated that once the US steps in, they may not want to pull back without ensuring good optics, which Trump really, really cares about.
Trump just got played and is now staring at another possible 20 to 30 year engagement. lmfao.

If they are so altruistic then why do they support all those other dictators? It's all about strategic bases, and oil
If the US doesnt gain them as allies, then Russia or China will.

Would you prefer that??

Point being the PURPOSEFULLY keep them as dictatorships to control them. They do not want them to be democracies.

Because then they might say no. So stop trying in any way to justify this as altruistic or about anything good. It's solely about power, oil. Thats it.

I never said it wasnt though. I said thats part of it.
I also think Trump wants to restore Iran to the Shah days, where people (especially women) had much more freedom than they have under Islamic rule

Something they should've done long time ago. They fired also against Cyprus which is a European country. And even against Oman which was supposed to be a friendly country and provided them with help to debate the US.

Gulf states flip on Iran as three nations prepare for combat operations

After U.S.-led airstrikes rocked Iran and toppled senior regime figures, retired Gen. Jack Keane said Saturday that the conflict could be widening as key Gulf states prepare to act.

"This backfired on the Iranians," Keane told "Fox & Friends Weekend."

"They thought that this would create an international uproar," Keane said. "The war is being expanded. It's now a regional war and, as such, pressure [is] being put on the United States and Israelis to bring this to a halt."

The Saturday morning strikes, described as a coordinated operation between the Israel Defense Forces and U.S. Central Command, targeted senior Iranian leaders and Iran’s ballistic missile and drone infrastructure, according to military officials.

The rare daytime assault eliminated a swath of the Islamic regime's leaders, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Keane said some Gulf nations that once publicly criticized the strikes are now shifting posture.

"The Gulf states are responding. They’re adequately defending themselves [with technology supplied by the U.S.]… they’re frustrated with the Iranians," he said.

"Publicly, they were supporting the Iranians and resisting the strike. Privately, they were supporting the U.S. and the IDF. I think we should knock that nonsense off once and for all. You’re with us publicly and privately."

Keane told Fox News' Griff Jenkins that three Gulf states are preparing for combat, but declined to identify them.

"One has already started, and two others are about to get going," he elaborated.

"I'm not going to talk about who they are, but that is being coordinated with Adm. Cooper and Central Command. These will be coordinated, selected targets, and they will contribute to the offensive nature of what's taking place – the IDF, Central Command and the Gulf states."

Keane said the next 48 hours will focus on neutralizing Iran’s remaining retaliatory capabilities — including ballistic missiles and drone stockpiles — to prevent further attacks on U.S. troops, Israeli civilians and American allies in the Gulf.

Putin boi is shitting his pants right now, a regime change in Iran means Russia (and China) have lost another ally.
China is not happy as they'll have to get oil somewhere else and fill your car up as the prices of gas are going to go up.

I think people are underestimating Iranian preparations and forgot what happened in June last year when Israel attacked.
During that war, Iran intentionally used moderate responses to try not to escalate. But over the week or so started using their larger missiles and hit Mossad in Tel Aviv and a few other targets that eventually forced Israel and america to stop the attack. trump then declared total victory and said their nuclear program was totally destroyed.

After that Iran seems to have learned and prepped the strategy they are using now, which is a full on response to any size war.
So they have a strategy, start with the smaller and slower missiles to drain patriot and other america anti missile defences.
Its only now that they are starting to use the bigger and larger scale weapons.

I think they are prepped to last a while.

Unless China supports them, they will not last long and the Abraham story isn't true.

I despise Trump and this administration, but to say Iran even comes close to the firepower and military prowess is nonsensical. The only thing that hinders the power of the US military is Trump. Israel is no slouch itself. They are a very formidable combatant and very strategic.

Most of you guys on here probably were against Marineland in Niagara Falls for how they captured and treated mammals. That's basically what terrorists and some regimes are doing in the middle east to women. Capture and control. Some of these women want to leave their home with their hair down and make up on. Nothing wrong with that. Is the governments in North America acting similar to mormons or such trying to fully control and stuff their women? No.
And at least at Marineland you could pet them.

The Abraham story isn't true but whether america and Israel can last longer is still up for debate.
Israel has used up most of their deterrence while Iran can keep firing missiles for a while.
So it'll be jets vs missiles and drones for the next week.

This will wipe out american stockpiles.
And now there are stories floating around that trump asked for a ceasefire and Iran refused.

Yeah it is reported that 10%-50% of Iranian missiles fail on launch.
So remaining reach their intended targets, but are not that accurate and end up falling in random places.
Even a large proportion of those are shot down by air defence systems.
And Iran has about 1000 or 1500 usable missiles total.
No airforce, no sizeable navy.
So their ability to win a tactical war is limited.
But their strength will be in a prolonged ground warfare, using asymmetric tactics.
However I don't think the US or Israel will commit troops to such a ground assault resulting in years, possibly decades long engagement.
They may instead choose to keep hitting Iran and degrading their tactical abilities for as long as necessary in the hope of toppling the current regime.

I don`t support pedophiles and/or felons like Trump, Nethanyahu or Putin who launch wars to keep power.
You're a piece of work Jali.
On MERB in years past, you weren't taking deep dives into conspiracies.

WTF can't people just hate or dislike a politician without going into the abyss.

There seems to be plenty of oil around the world right now.
A barrel of oil in the $60 plus range seems like a good equilibrium price to keep producers interested.

Obviously if whoever leads Iran backs away from its nuclear program, Iran can begin to ship more oil and upgrade its petroleum infrastructure.

I don't know if this passes the smell test.
Does the CIA really have such a place called "headquarters" in Dubai?
It seems to me that particularly in the Mideast CIA staff would be more discreet.
They would be placed there as State Dept. employees at the U.S. embassy or as oil company employees.
They even might be Art Vandalay types. You know Export-Import. Perhaps party with some Dubai hookers, etc.
