It seems weird now, but up until the late 60s, it was common to list a person's address when they were mentioned in the newspaper! This included people charged with crimes.Weird report back then.
The media / police release the victims home address and same for the other person.
I can see some smart thieves breaking in.
DO you know the reason why?It seems weird now, but up until the late 60s, it was common to list a person's address when they were mentioned in the newspaper! This included people charged with crimes.
Perhaps I'm being pedantic, but I expect better from The Globe and Mail, which prides itself on being the country's most refined newspaper, than to spell Scarborough as “Scarboro.”.He lived fast and died young. Too bad, could have been the Canadian High Hefner!

Is he still grounded?
I think it was more to identify them so the person reading would know if they were from their neighborhood. Communities were much tighter then and it wasn't hard to get people's addresses either from the phone book or city directory. But at the time, when prostitution laws were harsher, you could be caught by a cop in a "bawdy house" and have your name and address listed in the paper the next day!DO you know the reason why?
To me as mentioned above, and It's almost like saying to people watch out for criminals in the area! or bad area to live and house prices drop ! etc.
