The Iranian people have to take the opportunity now and topple the government, cause they might not get another chance ever again

How....think about it. They lack weaponry, internet to organize, a leadership structure, or any sort of coordination with bombing strikes so they don't become collateral damage.

And this regime will shoot to kill ANYONE THEY EVEN SUSPECT of trying this. They won't ask nicely. They will use every bullet they have. Mow down crowds as necessary.

You are looking at best at creating another Libya. With various commanders taking their weapons and running to create little kingdoms in the various towns. This is a nation of 92.5 million. It's huge. And a lot of land mass.

Even if they kill the Ayattolah, another awaits in succession. Same with commanders and other leadership.

I'm amazed how everyone thinks its that easy. If it was they would have done it in 1979.

Reza Pahlavi issued a statement saying Ali Khamenei died, calling the event the end of the Islamic Republic and calling on Iranians, including security forces, to support a transition to a new government.
He stated that any attempt to appoint a successor is doomed to fail and described the news as an occasion to honor the families of those killed under the regime.
“My dear compatriots,
Ali Khamenei, the bloodthirsty Zahhak of our time, the killer of tens of thousands of Iran's bravest sons and daughters, has been erased from the pages of history. With his death, the Islamic Republic has in fact come to an end and will soon be delivered to the basket of history.
Any attempt by the regime's remains to appoint a successor to Khamenei is doomed to failure from the start. Whoever is placed in his place will have neither legitimacy nor the possibility of survival; and he will no doubt also be complicit in the crimes of this regime.
To the armed, security and police forces: every effort to support a regime in collapse is destined for defeat. This is your last chance to join the people; to help ensure a stable transition of Iran to a free and prosperous future; and to have a role in building that future.
The death of the criminal Khamenei, while not being able to return the blood shed, can represent a balm for the hearts burned by the pain of the mourning families; of the fathers and mothers, spouses and children; and of the families of the disinterested martyrs of the National Revolution of the Lion and the Sun of Iran.
Noble and courageous people of Iran,
This marks the beginning of our great national celebration; but it is not the end of the journey. Stay vigilant and prepared. The time of a massive and decisive presence in the streets is very close. Together, united and firm, we will conquer the final victory and celebrate the freedom of Iran throughout our homeland created by Ahura.
Long live Iran,
Reza Pahlavi”

The hope is that they can install Pahlavi.
But that won't be possible until total air superiority is achieved and they put troops on the ground.
I don't see that being possible as a) Americans are not going to react positively to another 20 or 30 year engagement and b) Iran is stronger than Iraq and I don't see a ground engagement being as successful or being in the interests of the US in any case.

My opinion is that a nuclear Iran just creates more, lethal entanglements that the region and the world will require us to deal with.
You are required to police a region halfway around the world? How does that put America first?

Why not police your own borders and cities instead? Instead of spending billions on this war, why not give a tax break to working families in the US?

A lot of MAGA folks feel they've been duped, and they're right. This war is not for them.

A lot of things aren't fair.
Why don't NATO, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan who need oil supply lines open pony up for policing the Persian Gulf region?
Why do somewhat sane people challenge that idea?

The world is a very messy place. North Americans take peace and stability for granted.

Getting them to do so would be putting America First. Going in on Israel's orders, isn't.
