I am centre left, but I live in reality, and Mandami is doing well. If you deny it, you're living in a different realm. Trump has love in his eyes for the Mayor.

Here, listen to your favorite propaganda network.

I would take Mandami over Trump in a heartbeat as Prez.
What are you smoking? Mamdani was just sworn into office in January.

His platform is a socialist's litany of free stuff. So he's surfing on the wave of this fantasy for the time-being.

When things start to not work and voters realize there is not anywhere enough money to pay for everything, that will be the real test of his popularity.

What are you talking about? Please read and view so you are informed about Mandami approval numbers and we can have an intelligent debate.

Imagine how you would be jumping up and down in a group hug with Ritchie and Phil if Trump had these numbers!!!

Thank you for your attention to this matter! ;)

squeeze, jumping up and down for temporaneous poll numbers is your thing. I didn't even bother to disappoint you when you were all giddy in the early days of Kamala. Popularity contests are not really something that interest me. I'm especially not interested in far too early popularity polls.

Of course if I tell my kids I am taking them to the Bali for Christmas, they're really jacked up about Dad. Then if later I tell them we only have enough money to drive to Orlando, they're less jacked. But seriously, we'll visit a bunch of countries at Epcot. It will really be awesome.

Mamdani is now a tip of the progressive spear. If you are truly centre-left, you should understand the constraints he will hit.

I don't think your post will age well.

My first pick, which I have stated many times, is Gavin for taking out Trump, Vance, or Rubio. My second pick is Shapiro, but if Mandami were running, I'd be cheering for him over the 3 nitwits in charge now.

Rubio, if he weren't such a fake Trump kiss-up, actually has the smarts to be President, but he's been damaged. Plus MAGA won't support a Cuban.

It's more when the millionaire and billionaires will realize not enough money going their way that the real test will begin.

Wyatt, what do you think of BOBO??

She doesn't even know what inflation is which doesn't surprise me.

Just for the record, I would do BOBO...

Go to the 9-minute mark to hear the gobblygook

If you need a presenter, I am here for you, too

Maga's still think tariffs are paid by foreign countries... Inflation is way out of their intellectual capabilities.

Gavin would lose.
He represents the corporate, AIPAC side.

Your support of Gavin and AIPAC put you to the right of the dems and more firmly in the PeePee/DoFo camp up here.

But he inherited an absolute mess on a grand scale thanks to puppet in chief Biden.
Under Biden, Atlantic magazine called the US's booming economy the envy of the world. Took inflation way down and barely moved under Trump at around 3% now vs the 2% target. The 2025 GDP growth was lower than any quarter in the Biden era of truth and sound economic policies without the ranting and Trump making more off his cons jobs (coins, etc., etc.) than he ever made in real estate. Not to mention his bankruptcies, fraud organizations (Trump University, fake Trump charity, etc.) all determined by courts to have been a fraud as his constant lies about the economy, etc, etc

Biggest lies: Foreigners pay tariffs, Mexico will pay for the wall, the economy is the greatest ever, etc., etc., etc. Oh yes, first term I don't have to fundraise since I am SO rich! Day one will end the war in Ukraine, Day one will bring down prices and on and on and on of lies, scams and frauds this term. His administration is based on how folks praise him rather than on any real qualifications, and foreign policy is often shaped by gifts from foreign governments. But wiped out the ethics, and his DOJ is nothing but his defense attorneys trying to support his many illegal acts (not to mention illegal tariffs, which are a tax on US companies and buyers.) So ok bring more manufacturing to the US and pay twice the cost of products due to high US labor costs, and how many new college grads want to work on a factory floor?

With booming AI, massive layoffs and need for more foreign workers in construction, maids, service workers and many blue-collar jobs our younger generation is not trained for nor seeks.

I consider myself more central or center-left as well. Mandami is too extreme. I like some R's policies like under Reagan, but never the insane Trump, since I believe in truth and not a King or dictator, regardless of laws, Trump. I kind of like Pete, but not all his policies.

Part of the issue is that we have and should have a free market system. Neither party can dictate lower food or energy prices. They have nothing to do with it other than price controls, which were a total failure when they were used long ago.

Many other countries are going great with solar, wind, and clean energy, drastically reducing costs, while Trump, with $2 billion from the oil and gas industry, is dismantling all the clean energy policies of Biden. So expect higher energy prices since more supply is needed to meet higher demand, more record heat, stronger hurricanes, floods, etc., due largely to global warming driven by increased CO2. Auto gas prices mostly follow oil and other energy costs based on futures market prices, WTI (West Texas Intermediate) in the US and Brent in Europe.

1) No major Democratic person is for defunding the police, another lie. Some wanted more mental health workers who would be more appropriate for some police calls.

2) The wealthy pay the lowest marginal tax rates in history, and the wealth gap is growing because most of the tax relief goes to the wealthiest and huge tax benefits for corporations, especially the 100% write-off for most capital expenses, which previously had to take a depreciation deduction over many years. And lower corporate rates will have many ways to be avoid taxes, especially for large global companies. Trump made major cuts to the IRS to avoid more complex audits of his friends.

Trump's own tax returns, which he promised to release, were so complex with shell companies, etc., that the IRS admitted they needed outside experts; they didn't have the funds to contract for them. The Trump Organization was convicted of tax fraud, and many publicly released examples showed that he greatly inflated or deflated valuations of the same properties, depending on whether it benefited him. Pure fraud, like with many of the wealthy, and not the funding to adequately audit.
.
When I was in the tax department of the old Big 8 Touche Ross, CPAs (before the Deloitte merger), it was great to have $52k in earned income (more like $200k in current dollars) because they paid the "Max Tax" rate of 50% on earned income. Unearned income was taxed up to 70%, and we had a great economy for the decades of these tax brackets.

3) Free stuff. So let folks just die of starvation vs Medicaid, etc Or, or where most middle-income and lower are facing high evictions, foreclosures and losing the battle with still about 3% inflation, poor job opportunties etc. Why is helping those who need help get some uplifting, even if small things like free bus fares, etc.

You obviously are comfortable financially, so you can look down on those struggling just for daily living, which is made more and more made worse by the King Trump policies.

Trump brags about being the Tariff President. He is the truth; he is the fraud President.

Trump recently talked about eventually replacing the income tax with tariffs. The Tax Foundation said that it would take about a 180% tariff and greatly favor the wealthiest, of course.
