I was about to post this in the thread New Screen Crush: Isabel May that Insidious Von put up, but then I figured the topic was worth it’s own thread.

In that thread about Isabel May, Insidious Von wrote:

"Michael Shannon and David Corenswet are both tall men at 6'4". In the upcoming Mr. Irrelevant they could not cast Calee Spaeney (5'2'), talented though she is, it would look odd.”

So Isabel May, who is 5’9”, was cast instead.

Nothing against Isabel May — she’s pretty. But this idea that you can’t cast an actress who’s 5’2” because “it would look odd” is just buying into nonsense Hollywood bullshit. The media has a bias against petite women and it’s fucked up. Real heterosexual men like petite women. That doesn’t mean that we can’t also like medium-size and tall women, but if an actress is 5’2”, she’s not going to get lead-roles, she’ll get best-friend-roles. I’m not saying every leading lady has to be 5’2”, but can there be at least a few of them? Why does every female lead have to be 5’9” or taller? What’s Hollywood and the fashion industry (with their super-tall models) up to here?
Scarlett Johansson is 5'3...Joan Crawford 5'3

GTA & Thereabouts...
I was in a serious relationship with a professional model for years. She was hot as fuck, especially when done up... Before her, was a petite chick half her size... but with both, I still spanked it to curvier women with big tits. My point is that you want what you don't have and marketing people know this.

PS - Taller women show off more clothes and accentuate designs... When all the models are the same size, you can swap clothes and take photos easier. My GF had solid boobs, but I think designers wanted smaller-breasted women for some things and larger-breasted women for other things.

Have you ever noticed how little women there is in the high fashion world? Try to name the biggest fashion brand and see if a women is head designer. There are more and more women designers who makes it thankfully. Women also have more inclusive design. You wont only see silhouette like this.

But we are digressing now. I gave my point.
It was a rhetorical question.

There are all kinds of modelling types today, tailored to every need or desire.

They like slim women because it's easier to swap and switch clothing and curves pull the viewers eyes away from the design.

If a model comes out with big breasts, I guarantee you no one is looking at the dress.

I never said preference, I said Heightism. Go to Asia and Europe. People are not obsessed with being tall. You can find clothes for men below 5'9". While in Canada and the USA clothes keep on getting longer.
Preferential treatment for height IS heightism. Spin it any way you want.
