Very true indeed! And despite all he's been thru he's still a success, has overcome demons that would kill most people and is an incredibly insightful and well adjusted individual. And still a killer in the ring to boot. I have nothing but admiration for him. Snowflakes begone! :ROFLMAO:

He was a beast in his prime. I stopped watching shortly after he faced Lewis. He'd be worth a lot more, but he gave it away to ladies and his buddies to spend.

I would have ripped the reporter the same way with that shady ass talk. People like that pretend to like you then talk dirty and ruin ya.
Ya that was a classic tv moment hearing Mike with his lithp tell Downer he's a piece of shit without missing a beat. That guy probably doesn't realize how close he got to being bludgeoned into a coma by Mike's fists. I rate Mike for saying exactly what was on his mind despite being on live tv. And it's true, Mike was beyond generous. If he liked you he would just buy you a Bentley for the fuck of it.

Tyson never should've dropped Kevin Rooney as his trainer

King got in his ear and it caused Mike's downfall in a lot of areas of his life.

The doc they did about 15 years ago showed Mike had seen the light

yes, I just said that in a previous post in this thread… His head movement was never the same. He never slipped the same way and he never countered the same way. I was a kid when he was in prison, and I even wished at that time that he would just come out and rehire Rooney.

His situation kinda reminds me that of 2 Pac. Both hardworking and extremely talented in their own fields, but once you hang out with a snake business man things slowly go downhill with games being played in the background.

Most of what Tyson said was just for ratings/draw. It was nice seeing him on tv when he met Ali. I dunno why OP is hating on that kinda talk. Are you gonna hate on Stone Cold, The Rock & Chris Jericho for what they said about Stephanie McMahon?
A good and realistic comparison. (y)

I don't think that's the same as standing up, leaning forward with your fist cocked, threating physical harm and ready to smash in her face. Quite different than saying something about someone.

Not a good or realistic comparison.

If I am mistaken, please correct me.

It was pretty obvious that there was a prearranged agreement in the Jake Faul/Tyson fight. I hope the same agreement doesn't exist in the Mayweather/Tyson fight, not that it will make it much better. We're really only tuning in for the spectical of it all

IMHO, the only spectacle we may witness is if we use our imagination wondering what it might have been like if they'd met in their primes. In terms of real life spectacle, their outfits, their entrances and the ring girls have no interest to me (maybe the girls LOL) just as I watched hours and hours of the Olympics but not one second of the opening and closing ceremonies. In terms of boxing the event will be a spectacular failure.

Just a $$$ grab for Mayweather Jr. , Tyson is secure financially

Hope Mike beats the crap out of him, he is the most despised boxer ever.
Actually Mayweather is much more richer than Tyson, Tyson went bankrupt years ago but now made money with the Weed. They're saying Tyson is woth 20 millions, Mayweather 400 to 1 billion

Too bad some humongous sponsor doesn't come along and unifify this mess of boxing and what it is today. Too many titles, too much bullshit, too much this and that. I wish some humongous sponsor would just come along and make one federation with one belt for each division… One weekly TV show filled with interviews in a little bit of drama… along with weekly Under Cards… Bringing back that flavor of Monday night boxing… Pay-per-view for the big events, etc.. come on WBC, WBO, WBA... or whatever TF…partner up with a sponsor and let's get this thing back in order again. Pretty sad to see how disorganized everything is in boxing compared to the 70s and 80s and even 90s… with Moses Itauma coming up in the ranks… It's a shame to not have this guys superstar talent properly organized and on showcase.

Pretty sad when we live in a world where watching old WWE and old boxing on YouTube.. is what we thrive off of. I don't even know who the champions are anymore. I'm watching Tyson matches from 1988 sitting on the edge of my seat like it's some current event.

Before Monday Night there was Friday Night Fights sponsored by Gillette. I'd watch with my dad as a young lad and then I'd stand on the bed and spar with him.
