Actually Edmonton has become very liberal/left in the last 10-15 years.

Jeneroux, it must be pointed out, is an MP from Edmonton, not known as a hotbed of Liberal activity. So, the question must be asked: is this a referendum on PP's leadership? Carney's? This obviously brings the Liberal's closer to a majority, and marks the third Conservative to cross the aisle...

Harper was the last Canadian PM who was actually doing his job and was good at it. In U.S. the deterioration happened even earlier, with Bush Sr. being the last sane one more than 30 years ago.
