They have the canadian heart but this wil be a huge challenge with the USA goale allowing one goal so far.
It is a olympic record.
They almost have to shut out the USA after being beaten easily in their first match

I wouldn't watch women's hockey if it weren't the Olympics.
As one would expect, the game is so much slower and plodding than the men's game.
I have seen some nice hockey shots though and some good passing.
I have to admit I do watch women's hockey only at the Olympics as well. But yes it's improving a lot.
This year young US team will change the game tough.
Canada went with experience. The US went with new hockey, new talent, young talent. In 4 years, the Swiss and the Swedes will be much stronger, and we will see a very different Canada.
I saw this exact pattern in Soccer on the women's side. Now the US is still very strong, but the Europeans are taking over their game.
It is exactly the same in that regard as women's tennis.
The men are bigger, stronger, faster and more physical. The only way that those women's sports can be as compelling as the men is if it is in a situational way. A favourite team or player or country or it's extremely tight at the very end.
Skill, athletically and talent wise there is no comparison.

How crazy is this Big air freeski jumps. The go downhill back wards leap up in the air spin mulitple times and the have to land back wards.
I might change that to........or an extremely, very tight end.
Women's tennis combines a certain female grace, form and strength. That and many adult women play tennis. The best female tennis players can sell racquets, tennis balls, clothing, sports drinks, etc.
I have never know any adult women who played hockey in the U.S.
Canada probably has some adult women's leagues.
I mentioned women's basketball because shooting threes is kind of universally appealing. They can't dunk. However, some of the women can pass. I think they play physical defense. Where I think there is a bigger skill difference is lay-ups. Yes, women basketball players miss too many easy lay-ups that take me out of the game. It cracks me up that a WNBA star gets identified with "me-bounds".

U.S. women's soccer has had the advantage that many young girls play soccer and have for some time. I remember years ago a Brazilian acquaintance said that Brazilian girls did not play soccer (football). That's all changed.
