Precisely. The worst part is that these pigs are the highest paid in all of North America and that's still not enough.
We then have politicians who are crooks themselves fully supporting the outlandish spending on the police budgets so that the gravy train and good times can keep on rolling on the taxpayers' dime.
What makes it worse is the amount they make from paid off duty work. These are they ones that don't have to be bribed to make ends meet.

I believe if they are it's only in a peripheral capacity. I know a few members own tow trucks but I don't believe they are a part of the actual criminal enterprise known as 'The Union' which are at the center of all of this. It's a collective of tow truck companies that work together to control the industry thru violence and intimidation. It's outlined in the TorontoLife article I posted. Really worth a read if you have time.

He's getting paid $400k annually for the next 4 years. He's probably been offered a buyout by the City to get out of that contract and holding out for a bigger number.
If they fire him the City's likely on the hook for $1.6M as those contracts are pretty hard for employers to get out of, without cause. Unfortunately, barring blatant negligence or a criminal indictment Toronto would not be able to fire him with cause.
Their lack of required training and education means anyone get become an officer. My dad’s ex girlfriends son is one and he’s got major anger issues and a total idiot.
They're scraping bottom of the barrel because there is so much nepotism on the force. The old guard thinks it's a right of passage and therefore we don't get the best talent for the job.
