When EVs become cheaper then gas cars (3-5 years) the switch will happen really quickly. Even before 1MW charging makes it to Canada, Chinese tech PHEVs with 200km EV range and 1800 km gas range will CRUSH gas cars. Once you have a PHEV that does 200 KM on EV you will barely use any gas. On top of that there is carbon sequestration which has many low cost avenues to success.

Even if Carbon is NOT causing global warming I am happy to reduce emissions as carbon is often released with a whole cocktail of other harmful gasses. Even in forest fires. the justification is no longer believable , but you still want the increased govt control / overreach
the 2020 lockdowns of approx. half of the worlds population severely restricted human co2 generating activities and had no observable impact on the accumulation of atmospheric CO2
