Trump was bribed by Moroun. Trump is ALWAYS FUCKING BRIBED. It's how he functions. Moroun made a chunky-wunky "political donation" to Trump last year.
The thing is, what could Moroun get out of this? If the US takes a stake, its still a bridge he needs to compete with. Could he buy into it as a partner with Canada/Michigan? He would make some cash, but still see probably less than he makes now. I honestly don't see a scenario where he can make as much as he did before...Now, that being said, I don't know what the toll will be on the new bridge. If I recall correctly, it was $10 for a car to cross the Ambassador Bridge, and I think probably $20 for buses and trucks. But, to get there, you had to drive through Windsor, which was chaotic. The news bridge connects directly with the 401, so it would be a much easier drive.

The bottom line is, this bribe happened too late, and even if it is delayed, it will inevitably open. And, good. Fuck Moroun. They are shitty people who put little money into the Ambassador, so it is in a bad state of repair...

Send Tom Wilson of Team Canada hockey to meet with Trump and "negotiate" with his elbows.
Mark Carney and the Liberals have confused an entire generation about hockey.

Elbows up is a cowardly hockey strategy in today's game. It is conduct that is penalized under the rules, and it is a tactic designed to avoid being legally body checked by a larger more physical opponent. It is the gutless strategy of a player who, simply put, has no business being in the game.

Gordie Howe, for whom the bridge is named, was famous for applying his elbows in the corners. However, he played the game at a time when players were held accountable for their actions. Thus, one third of the Gordie Howe hat trick is a fight.

I hope this post helps even just one liberal understand hockey better, and helps them understand how nationally embarrassing the elbows up slogan is.

That is quite the Olympic level mental gymnastics.

You're thinking that anything to do with Trump and his admin is logical or competently planned out and it's not. The entire presidency is a Reign of Error which will be blackly comical when viewed retrospectively 20 years from now.

Trump will block the bridge if paid enough by Moroun. He will refuse to staff it with Border Control cops. And Congress will not force him to open it, as long as the GOP holds the majority. It's dumb as fuck. But so is everything else that Orange Fuckerado does.

Canadians, when threatened, don't play by the rules. We are quite capable of war crimes, read some Canadian history. Churchill and other Allied forces commanders were at time scared of what we did. It's rumored we were one if they reasons they created the Geneva Convention. Shit got nasty in WW1 as well.

It's not a false equivalence. It's a reminder we don't care about the fucking rules. To fellow Canadians its time to stop "playing fair" as they have, and get fucking mean about it.

Gordie would have been proud.

That's actually based on an incident in Normandy where the Canadian Army discovered that an SS unit mass-murdered dozens of Canadian PoWs.

Up to that time, the Canadians had treated their SS PoWs decently. After that time, the Canadian Army simply didn't record taking any SS prisoners for a few months.

Completely agree. He makes decisions on a whim without thinking about consequences. That's why TACO is a thing. He does something stupid, realizes it would fuck him badly, then quietly walks it back...

@richaceg, I'm surprised by your lack of support for Trump in this thread. Dutchie gave it an ok shot, but of course, he doesn't have your determination, your flair, your orange taint loyalty and of course, your toothless laughing fella. Please don't let this happen again, or I will have to reach out to Trump and let him know of your failings. ;)

I want that bridge done...if we're paying for it...i don't support the deal falling apart...it benefits both Canada and US....

He's already fucked the GOP's chances in MI in the 26 mid terms. He may have no reason now to walk it back.
