Someone posted a thread warning people of the ad on LL and it was deleted or removed but this is the result of that sting.
10000%.They were told they were minors and proceeded to attempt to book. They got what they deserved.
Agreed although they were releasedThey were told they were minors and proceeded to attempt to book. They got what they deserved.
Of course, they now await their day in court. Normal procedure in these types of charges.Agreed although they were released
It sucks but we have a law system not a justice system and if they are worthy of bail, then they get it. They still have to go to court, they have been publicly named, will have to pay a lot in lawyer fees but whatever this punishment is. I hope that is enough to deter them from doing this again.Agreed although they were released
While I am normally optimistic about most things and generally try to bring this kind of positivity to the board, I can't do that with this.It sucks but we have a law system not a justice system and if they are worthy of bail, then they get it. I do have to admit, while I am not happy that some people did this, I am happy it was only 6. I honestly thought it would have been more. The ad ran for two days if I am not mistaken. Maybe 3. And to only get 6 guys take the bait, that gives me some hope for this industry. That is actually a low number compared to the volume of calls that come through usually and you know they were bumping that hourly.
I’m glad that Durham still does this. Durham has always done stings yearly. Use to be for street work but now theh are upping the game. I like that.
The thing is, bail is not meant to be denied as a form of punishment. It is denied if there is a risk to reoffend based on past convictions of the same crime or if there is a flight risk. These men, although we know they are quilty, they are inocent until proven guilty in the court of law. So they can't be denied bail as a form of punishment. While I am normally optimistic about most things and generally try to bring this kind of positivity to the board, I can't do that with this.
Maybe if there wasn't that thread warning people about the sting, there would've been more than 6 of these sickos who got caught.
This whole catch and release deterrent system for pedophiles is a problem. Yeah they get named publicly but because the sex offender registry isn't public, it doesn't do much once the initial reporting fades after a week as the Internet moves so quickly. Sure maybe one or two never repeat the offence but most do. Pedophiles, regardless of gender and race, deserve to be locked up for life.
Maybe I could see mandatory psychiatric treatment for a first offence for the 20 year olds as they are young enough to maybe not know the difference between the age of consent laws vs soliciting a minor. The 30+ year olds though - jail time, no bail. They're old enough to know and are likely already repeat offenders who just got caught for the first time.
This is true but if they only have the budget for one sting, then I can see why they pick minor hunters.Great for minors, now how about all the other human trafficking happening in Durham? They're not doing that great of a job. The last time I seem them do a "check" was yearsss ago. Nothing since. I guess women 18+ are not a priority anymore smh.
This is one of the reasons I don't want to see the Asian providers..This is true but if they only have the budget for one sting, then I can see why they pick minor hunters.
They did do checks. They just don’t check people like us anymore because they know we are not trafficked.
I would like to see a crack down on the Asian traffickers though. I think that needs to be addressed. I just don’t think they have it in the budget.
committing a crime has nothing to do with race buddy, although the general sentiment in this continent has us led to believe that...no surprise, one cannot pronounce 4 of the 6 names.. SMH
And they probably already back in action..
back when that thread was posted, I kind of wondered what got out of it...the last time a sting like this was done was back in 2024, even back then somebody alerted this board! i'd wager 25-40% of hobbyists read this board, atleast in the Durham regionWhile I am normally optimistic about most things and generally try to bring this kind of positivity to the board, I can't do that with this.

that trafficking is a 1000 times bigger beast for any police to solve....it involves continents, mafia, port and LE staff; and smugglers.Great for minors, now how about all the other human trafficking happening in Durham? You clearly have never had VICE knock at your door during a sting/ investigation check. They know exactly what to do and what theyre looking for. I will not say what they are on here, but these few things are a dead give away whether the woman is being forced to work aka human trafficked. You're watching too many movies hun lol I'm talking human trafficking in general. ALSO.... IT'S NEVER TOO LATE to help a woman who's being forced in this industry.that trafficking is a 1000 times bigger beast for any police to solve....it involves continents, mafia, port and LE staff; and smugglers.
If it had to be culled, it should have been in the 2000s / 2010s...2026 is way too late
films, documentaries will continue to be made, but that would just be to spread awareness, sad but unfortunate
as hobbyists all we can do is look for patterns and avoid the obviously trafficked girls and walk
I do watch a lot of movies and documentaries...and the only ppl knocking on my door are pesky Rogers solicitorsYou clearly have never had VICE knock at your door during a sting/ investigation check. dont want to make this the point of discussion in this thread, I'd love for it to be and continue to be about Child sex-trafficking / human traffickingIm not with you on the "2 caucasian names" comment. Thats completely false. Them releasing photos or not releasing photos has nothing to do with race.
