Comedy is not generally exempt from defamation lawsuits, but it is afforded high levels of protection under free speech laws (such as the First Amendment in the U.S.) if the content is recognizable as satire, parody, or hyperbole. A comedian can be sued if a "reasonable person" would take a false, harmful statement as an assertion of actual fact rather than a joke
So I'm right? Cool thanks for the back up!

How do you figure you're right?? 😃
As you posted. Highly protected. As an awards show host, that's some serious benefit of the doubt on satire to amuse an audience. Besides, he will also have to sue the awards show and the network. It's one thing to go after news. But this?

I doubt it gets started let alone certified. I see a big TACO.

Try adding a few zeros to that $20. Trump's last lawsuit was pretty successfull:

Accusing him of visiting an island is got to be lot different than accusing him of rape ( or excuse me, sexual abuse -which was he found guilty of) even in the "fucked-up" US courts.

I think you forgot to read the last part:

Noah obviously believes the Epstein island accusation is true, otherwise he wouldnt have made the joke.
I dont think Trump will TACO on this one, I can see an out of court settlement if he does decide to sue

I didn't see the clip but he has appeared in the flight logs. And that would be the crux of the case. And like I said, discovery.

Flight logs going to NYC and West Palm Beach, not to Little Saint James island.

Trump has never been to Epstein's island
Discovery is wide ranging. His lawyers won't want that. Or the DOJ. Or all the other names.

TACO.

Anyone else find it odd Trump didn't demand an investigation into who according to him planted the birthday card to Epstein ? If it really was not him why is he so scared to go after whomever is responsible ?

Monologues are probably going to get the benefit of the doubt.

And awards him $20 in damages. How many nonsense lawsuits does Grande Orange have going now?

"flight logs" to where? Accusing someone to the "Epstein Island" isn't satire. it's a claim...just like stopadopolous being protected by the 1st Ammendment ended up paying a settlement...lmao.
