NO one mentions this but as I was shoveling I noticed I can walk through a 3 foot drift like it is not there
so I looked it up

Over 60 cm of snow in some areas is a record but it is the quality of the snow that counts

very low density snow means it is very fluffy and light
makes shoveling easy

It is called champagne snow because of the frigid air that makes it and there is no wind to compact the snow

Very light snow I even used leaf blower instead of snow blower lol...it's the temperature IMO that's just making it worst. I was able to shovel my driveway pretty easy i have backyard furniture that I clean with a leaf blower quite easy.

Toronto was not on a path to be hit terribly by this storm no?

Where I live now in Quebec we did had 2 days of minus 25 (feeling -35), which was pure shit. And today we have 10 cm of snow so far. As I grow older I now call snow white shit.

I was in Mexico recently, I am currently on booking.com trying to find a decent location to go back!

Not too heavy, but the way I have gotten used to using outside areas of the house year round lots of paths to shovel after the double driveway was cleared.

85' to the hot tub, 30' behind the house, 35' beside the garage back to front of the house all cleared 3' wide.
I did the one to the hot tub and its cover last, as a motivating factor.
Because that is where we will be soaking after dinner.

The plough blocked my driveway with 3 feet high dense snow. Clearing that even with a snow blower was hard

Those windrows are a bear.

When I lived in Richmond Hill sometimes the ploughs would do a second pass to clear then away.

When they didn't, after I cleared the driveway myself, and being in my 70's at that time, I gave the neighbour's teenage son good bucks to clear away the windrow.

I did not want my heart to attack me!
