So, ABC and CBC payoff Trump over friviolous lawsuits they would have likely (almost for sure) have won (the 60 Minutes and George Stepanopolous suits)....and low and behold, they were able to complete their mergers or business deals fairly quickly. Now, I know the right is not very curious about things that could paint the Dear Leader in a negative light, but we know a few things here....First, no other thin skinned, weak willed president would have the audacity to sue a media outlet in this fashion, because in normal times they would be laughed at. And second, no media company, unless they feared retribution or costly delays for mergers, would settle such outlandish lawsuits. But, as we've seen with the Kimmel story, they don't want the government to block deals or impede business.
Honestly....Do you think what Kimmel said was really that problematic? He didn't glorify Kirk's death. He didn't say it was good. He didn't even really say that much about Kirk. But, he did talk about how MAGA was trying to grift in the wake of the assassination. He was a little mean to the wrong people, and now he's off the air. But...over at Fox, Brian Killmede can advocate for the murder of homeless people, and gets off with an on-air apology....

Just moments after a divided House voted Friday to adopt a resolution “honoring the life and legacy” of Charlie Kirk in the wake of his killing last week, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) slammed the slain right-wing influencer as “ignorant” and "uneducated" for his numerous past controversial remarks, and accused House Republicans of “whitewashing American history.”
“We should be clear about who Charlie Kirk was; a man who believed that the Civil Rights Act that granted Black Americans the right to vote was a mistake,” AOC said, speaking on the House floor.
“Who, after the violent attack on Paul Pelosi, claimed that 'some amazing patriot' should bail out his brutal assailant, and accused Jews of controlling 'not just the colleges, it's the nonprofits, the movies, it's Hollywood, it's all of it.'"

Specifically, AOC took issue with portions of language included in the resolution, particularly its mention of Kirk’s “legacy,” or that Kirk had worked “tirelessly to promote unity,” a claim, AOC charged, was partisan in nature, divisive, and blatantly untrue.
