You're saying what we're all thinking.Bonds is black,,,,,Clemens is white
IIRC, Gary Carter had the same problem initially. There are a lot of BBWA voters who wouldn't vote for Barry Bonds even without the PED scandal, because he's such an asshole.
Albert Belle had excellent career numbers, (.295 career batting average, .564 slugging, .933 OPS, nine consecutive 100 RBI seasons, 381 career homers all through age 33), but he was such a head case that he received only 7.7% and 3.5% of votes in his only two years on the Hall of Fame ballot.
Carter was more of a dick than an asshole. He was like the male version of the 'rah rah' girl in high school who had too much school spirit. Bonds and Belle were surly. Carter was just annoying.IIRC, Gary Carter had the same problem initially.
They addressed that on the tv broadcast today. There are 19 games left and the Jays have a record of 82-61. If they go 9 and 10 the rest of the way they will end up with 91 wins which is likely to be good for the playoffs. The last wild card team right now is Seattle with a record of 75-68. The Mariners would have to go 16-3 to get to 91 wins. Still, there was 1987.Are the Blue Jays still making the playoffs? Their offence has really dried up. They’re shit at hitting with runners in scoring position again.
I will also add that some of these people you mentioned were simply caught. And there's never been concrete evidence against Roger Clemens, although tons of speculation with good reason for sure. That Andy Pettite "miss-remember" testimony killed The Rockets reputation lol. But like Johny Cochran would say, "if it doesn't fit you must acquit." Clemens was my hero before he became a Blue Jay. I used to have pictures and posters combined on the wall of my bedroom to show his entire pitching mechanics and delivery. From start to finish. It was a thing of poetry. A mix of power and poetry. The day he signed with Toronto, I literally could not believe it was happening. Gord Ash was the man for making that happen.By the way, my position is that Clemens, Bond, Rose, McGuire and Sosa, and A-Rodriguez ....should all be in the hall of fame. Sure steroids helped them ,but they were widely condoned during their careers....and Rose got over 4200 hits, nothing to do with gambling

I hate to say it because he's a living legend, but I've never been convinced Nolan Ryan didn't use steroids. He was throwing in the mid 90s in 1992 when he was like 47 or something like that. And as I've said before, 95 miles an hour in 1992 would've been 102 miles an hour today. The measuring of speed was different at that time. The gun now clocks out of your hand and not when it crosses the plate which loses 6 to 8 mph in velocity by the time it leaves your hand and crosses the plate. Not to mention Nolan Ryan had legs like tree trunks, and his very own personal pitching coach Tom House had a long history of steroid abuse dating back to the 60s that he has openly admitted. Not to mention there was no testing when Ryan played. Both Nolan Ryan and Tom House put a lot of work and science into pitching velocity and how to maintain things. Once upon a time, I was a pitcher so I understood all of this very well.

Whoever thought at the beginning of the season that this perfect cocktail and combination of journeymen, finally having a chance to prove themselves would combine altogether into this unbelievable chemistry of this blue collar team that knows how to win and needs to prove themselves constantly. It just works. And whoever thought that George Springer would emerge as the leader of this group the way he has putting up these numbers this year. It's actually remarkable.Wow ,that was exciting what a team. Somebody different every night
Magic number to make the playoffs is 9.Jeff Hoffman says "look who's 9 and 6, bitches".
Do we know the Jays magic number yet?
It was AI.quite the tirade
calling your players bad names is bad move like they are not trying
As a manager it is your job to figure something out
