I always carry some cash on me.
I like watching all the youngins on the news when the cell network goes down and they can't use their cards or iwatches to pay for anything.
The panic on their faces is priceless.
There are certain places I will never use my cards.

You never see a SP or go to a massage with HE? That is the only time I use cash.

SP's are a given. Guess I lived in Houston too long. Never carried cash there, never needed to. Pretty much put everything on Chase card because I liked their reporting. Every expense was accounted for.

A new text scam is out there now too:
You get a text asking about your reservations at a Japanese restaurant, or a text from an unknown number written like it came from a friend.
When people respond wondering who it is or what is going on the reservation one sends you to a web site that tries to get as much of your info as possible. The friend one eventually does that too.

Let's be careful out there...

Another way I protect myself from fraud is I have 0 financial info/apps on my phone.
Only app i have that didn't come with the phone is the traffic app called Waze.
No bank app, no tap your phone to pay.
Yes I am paranoid, but so far it's served me well.

If you lose your phone, basically anyone can use a computer program to hack it and enter. Once that happens, if you have any banking info on there, they can easily access your account and drain it. Most banks still require text messages to verify it's you, and since they have your phone, they can receive those.
